For immediate release: HIP-HOP HOOLIGAN-RAPPER M.C. RAINDROP (the artist formerly known as "R-Diddy") REMAINS UNREPENTANT AS ALBUM DEBUTS TO CONTROVERSY AND CONDEMNATION. Adolescent recording artist M.C. Raindrop seems unconcerned with the scorn being heaped upon his debut CD, "This is Raindrop," which hits stores and mp3 download sites today. Long before its song list had even been finalized or lyric-sheets leaked to parental watchdog groups, "This is Raindrop" was already being denounced by educators and civic leaders for "Fostering disrespectful attitudes toward school property and creating an enviroment hostile to the learning process." This, according to Ortega Middle School PTA Treasurer Pro Tempore, Lourdes Belasco-Nunez. Nunez recently accepted her position at Raindrop's school when her predecessor, a thirty-year-old single mother of two, whose name is being withheld, resigned amid unsubstantiated rumors that she was involved in an inappropriate relationship with Raindrop --who is legally a minor-- and that the two had on several occasions engaged in activities described as "French kissing," and "heavy petting." San Mateo County District Attorney Scooner "Flip" Baumgartner declined to comment earlier this week as to whether his office will pursue a criminal investigation in this matter, nor would he disclose whether said investigation would focus on allegations that the former PTA Treasurer had misappropriated moneys from bake-sales and other school fund-raisers in order to cover the recording and publishing costs of Raindrop's now-infamous demo EP, "Runes with Prunes." Given that even his fans regard Raindrop's lyrical content as "dirty," or --as Ortega Middle School Vice-Principal Leslie Linhairless-Verducci puts it, "discordant, vulgar, and dehumanizing," some listeners might b

Given that even his fans regard Raindrop's lyrical content as "dirty," or --as Ortega Middle School Vice-Principal Leslie Linhairless-Verducci puts it, "discordant, vulgar, and dehumanizing," some listeners might be surprised to learn that the iconoclastic young Rapper draws the most strength, artistic vision, and rhythmic influence from artists whose bodies of work are relatively inoffensive. Emphatically listing ribald comedian Rodney Dangerfield's novelty single, "Rappin' Rodney," Wham U.K.'s "Wham Rap," single, and Sony PlayStation videogame character, "Parappa the Rapper" as his three most important influences, Raindrop shrugs and says, "They're all pretty bad-ass, but I'm leaning toward Rappin' Rodney and Parappa these days, 'cause it turns out George Michael is some kinda Gaylord."
