Description: The Admiral must rescue his research party who are trapped beneath styrofoam ice blocks.

Welcome aboard the Seaview, the most extraordinary submarine in all the Seven Seas! From the outside the ship appears to be a high-tech research vessel, but it's actually the mightiest weapon in the Cold War arsenal of the U.S., sent on perilous top-secret missions to battle the enemies of mankind.

This 1960s television series aired on ABC from September 14, 1964, to March 31, 1968. The 110 episodes included 32 in black and white (1964-65), and 78 in color (1965-68). Most fans and critics think that the series' best episodes aired during the first season. The adult stories during this year stand up far better than the more childish narratives that came later as a result of ABC's demands. The series featured story lines devoted to Cold War themes and into near-future fiction. Many episodes involved espionage and sci-fi elements, but the first year, overall, was intense and very watchable. (less)
