In June 2005, five of the Hillsborough County Commissioners voted to 'ban' Gay & Lesbian events in the county of Hillsborough. The same 5 commissioners 'banned' a Gay & Lesbian book display in a library that celebrated and honored Gay & Lesbian authors during Gay Pride month.
