Pitch, as in pitch black, has something to do with coal, and the character prefers to eat coals. Pitch also begins with the same letter as Pulgarcito.

The name could also come form pitch as in... pitch, the sticky, foul, tarlike form of natural oil, which was used for greek fire, and some thought came from hell itself.

Oh my god james, i've looked for the name of this picture since i was a kid, and who would know it was actually called "santa claus" i saw it on tv when i was 4 years old and it was the most wtf thing i saw in my life, is something out of any standar even for the mexican cinema, but as a kid i found it very "charming" i can't remember the name of that pitchy devil in the spanish version but i really got in to the story when that bastard started to fool a little girl saying that santa claus would not give her any present because she is poor, now looking it as a grown men i personally think it's plotless and stupid but it was not meant to be understood for grown people. Anyhow as a kid i saw it as the most wtf thing ever made, and still looks like it.

One thing he forgot to mention on both this one and the Santa Claus Conquers the Martians is that both were used on Mystery Science Theater 3000. And both are pretty good episodes as well.

that movie was part of my christmas movies, because it was the only santa claus movie in wich they really speak spanish(in case you didn`t know it is mexican, and so am i), if you wanna see really messed up mexican movies you should see "clavillazo conquistador del espacio" or "pepito y chabelo contra los mounstros" that movies where made around that time and with the same budget and also pretty fucked up
