There's nothing classy in waiting to apologize until you're called out by several press outlets for a ridiculous comment. You'll never hear Al Franken cry "partisan" to avoid a question either.

From the gang that preaches "personal responsibility", the only time they apologize or admit anything is when they are shamed into it.
