Description: Government officials try to communicate with Viktor (Tom Hanks).

Tom Hanks plays Viktor Navorsky, an Eastern European immigrant on his way to the U.S. While Viktor is in the air, war breaks out in his homeland, making him an INS oddity: belonging neither here nor there, he waits -- and waits and waits and waits -- in the airline terminal to go home.
