Description: Making friends at a new high school can be hard, especially when you're a 40-something junkie and former prostitute trying to get a new lease on life. Here we find Jerri with two of her new friends, but she might not yet realize that they're not exactly part of the cool clique.

A prequel to the critically acclaimed Comedy Central series of the same name, Strangers With Candy is the story of Jerri Blank, a 46-year-old junkie/ex-con who goes back to her childhood home to find that her father, now in a coma, has re-married and fathered a child, now a teenager. Jerri returns to high school in a bid to start her life over, only to confront the most dangerous gang of all -- the cool kids.
