    Black and White in Florence In Florence, Italy, promoters of the the 16mm Film Festival claim it to be the first Festival dedicated to 16 and 8 mm black and white films. The goal of the festival is to promote black and white film; basically cinema that opposes digital technology or as their press states; "A technology too accessible to everyone." The 16mm Film Festival is presently calling for the submission of experimental films, video art and music videos from the world over - but entries must be derived on Super 8 and 16mm black and white film. Directors may submit multiple works for consideration, but at most one film will be admitted into the competition and the jury will award the following prizes: Best Experimental Film Best Videoclip Best Videoart Other prizes will be also awarded by the special jury. Further details and entry forms can be found on the official website and entries (which are free) must be made by 15th February 2007. The festival itself will be held in the beautiful city of Florence from the 8th to 10th March 2007. www.16mm.it

Description: A short (originally silent) black and white film I made this summer at Columbia College Chicago. My first time using a Bolex 16mm, and my first actual short film. I transfered it to digital and added titles and sound. A story of a boy dealing with the murder of a loved one, and the way he chooses to deal with the pain. (less)
