    did the bullet go on both sides of the blade or did the bullet, both pieces go off to the left.

    To carter93720 - The bullet hit the sword blade dead center and split in half.

    On the topic of the question just MANswered - I'm no historian, but blades have been around longer than bullets. There's been more time to perfect swords than guns. So the sword could win.

    You are both full of shit. They say "it is the first time in the world " this has ever been done. Thirty years ago, I was taking hunting knives and sticking the blade into a board, putting a beer can on both sides of the knife, and shooting a bullet at the sharp edge of the blade. It would strike the cutting edge, cut the bullet in two, and put a hole into both cans. So, sure, a knife, sword, hatchet, or axe could cut a bullet in the same way, but that does not mean that you are better off with a sword than a gun. I'll take my '45 and take on three people with samurai swords in a heartbeat and not worry one second about the outcome. They act like this is something "NEW AND AMAZING"!!!!!!!! This is OLD news!!!
