Description: Jamie Foxx stars as soul performer Ray Charles in this heartfelt biopic of a man whose musical vision created a distinctly American genre of music. Having gone blind as a boy, Charles lived in the world through his music. Fusing the spiritual resonance of gospel, the ache of blues and the beat of R&B, Charles ushered in a new era in popular music. Along the way, the murderous sirens of fame--drugs and womanizing--nearly ruined him, but Charles persevered to become the American icon he is today.
