That's some serious mental damage there. I'd be pissed as hell if they did that to my kid. I don't see blood on her shirt and an ear hanging out of her mouth. If she threw a fit - there is no excuse for that. She was sitting still and behaving the best I could see. Why threaten her and then follow through when she was doing nothing wrong? Assholes.

This LOOKS terrible - but people need to remember they love to make the cops look like horrible people. Everybody hates a cop until you need one. Clearly the cops were called for some reason. I wish this site would post what the childs history is with law enforcement and what she did on this day that teachers felt the police needed to be called.

I saw the film BEFORE the police were called. It is interesting that only the end of the film is shown here. You might want to take a look at the rest of the film. You may not change your minds about how you feel, but at least you'll have seen the entire story. The only thing I am certain about this story, is it is interesting how some people are always willing to "edit" the facts to try and paint police in the worst possible light. The little girl was hitting the principle, climbing up and jumping on the table she is so calmly sitting at in the end of the edited film. The principle could not control her, as although she tried to talk to her and get her to calm down, the girl kept running around the office, hitting the principle and pulling things off the wall and throwing them around. The principle was worried about the little girl injuring herself if she fell off the table or while throwing things around the office she pulled something on top of herself. I am certain the principle was worried about getting sued herself, because what are you supposed to do when a five year old little girl is hitting you, throwing things and jumping on furniture and won't behave? Her mother had been called into school before when the girl was acting like a little terror. The principle called the mother this time as well. I honestly can't remember if the mother refused to go and pick up the girl, or if she was unreachable. Whatever the case, the principle was faced with a 5 year old girl who could not be controlled. I am sure she was afraid to physically restrain her, as she probably feared lawsuit herself. So she called the police. What you see is AFTER the girl was finally seated calmly. The police get a call, they respond, and they are not sure how to handle the situation. The REAL crime is the little girl is obviously allowed to act in a totally uncontrolled manner without respect for adults. Her mother is the person who is to blame. When I was a little kid, the principle would p

addle kids who wouldn't behave. Nowadays principles can't do that, they would get sued. So what are teachers and principles to do with the kids with deficient parents who send their kids with behavioral disorders to school? Well, the principle did what everyone else does in this society when faced with an unwinnable conundrum. She called someone else to take care of the situation. And the police responded. Did you notice the officer saying "Do you remember me? I'm the one who told your mom to put hancuffs on you." The mother had been called to school on other occasions as well. The police had spoken with the mother before about her out of control child. The school was at a loss as to what to do with the child. The school has to let the little terror into school, they can't keep her out. And yet her sleaze of a mother wouldn't discipline her or teach her to respect adults. So the school was in the impossible situation of dealing with a little tiny terror. She hit other children and disrupted their schooling. In the past she would have been put in a special school. These days, as her mind is fine it's just that she was never taught to behave by her parents, the school cannot just send her to a special class where she would be physically restrained if need be. So what do the teachers and the principle do with a child who they cannot restrain, cannot punish themselves and the parents will not discipline? A child who is a danger to other students, herself and teachers? A child who makes it impossible to teach the students who have been taught to behave and respect adults by their parents? Well, they try to get someone else involved who would be responsible in such a situation. Who is that? THE MOTHER! And as the mother was unwilling to do anything, they called the police because they didn't know what else to do. The police came, not for the first time, and did the best they could considering the only person who should be punishing the child is the mother. The mother is

a terrible parent. If anyone should be sued, she should for inflicting her little terror on the other children, the teachers, the principle and the police. And this is not a race issue. There are plenty of well-behaved black, white, red, yellow, brown children in that school who were hit, pushed and had their class interrupted by that little brat. You are all right that she should not be handcuffed. But someone tell me what YOU would do if a five year old who was in your care was hitting you, your children, jumping on furniture where she might fall, throwing and breaking things and you couldn't control her? And I bet you can't think of anything but locking her in a room or calling her parents. Well, locking her in a room = LAWSUIT. Restraining her = lawsuit. Spanking her = lawsuit. And if her mother wouldn't come and get her, what exactly would you do?

Well based on how simplistic your minds are due to the fact that anyone can show you half of a story and you buy it instantly, without hesitation or thought of your own, my guess is you'd kill the little girl and stuff her body in a dumpster. And then you'd stand there and say "I don't know what happened, she was just here a second ago." Because that is the kind of thing really stupid people do when they are faced with a situation there is no perfect solution for... Well, the principle called the police, and the police restrained the little girl with handcuffs. Works for me. Although my plan would have been drive the little girl to child welfare where an experienced counselor could begn working with her. Then go find the mother, put HER in handcuffs and drag her in front of a judge where he would order her to take parenting classes and have her child, until the mother is fit, take regular counselling from a qualified child psychologist. Then I would tell all you people to shut up for being so stupid and eat a sandwich, lol.

Ok! She's still five! And if she was acting up before but had calmed down then the handcuffs were too much! If she had been jumping around and acting like methuselaq says when they got there then I could see them handcuffing her but not after she had calmed down! And methuselaq there has to be a reason behind why the child acted that way toward a principal. You would be surprised at how degrading, belittling and indifferent the very people we entrust our children to everyday can be. There's history behind that little girls' tantrum!!

This is NOT a race issue and I will tell you why. Several people have posted they wouldn't do something like that to a white kid. That is not true. They expelled a 6 year old white boy for kissing a girl in school. And it was not an adult kiss it was a sweet innocent peck that kids give each other. And I saw 2 other things on the internet about 5 and 6 year olds getting expelled for bringing a plastic totally unrealistic toy 3 inch water gun to school. One kid was white one was black and it was different schools. There is injustice in all races and I am sick and tired of everything being a black/white issue. Why can't somethings be just what they are. There was another issue a few years ago about a black girl that was 15 I think and the cops had to pepper spray her at school. There was a BIG race thing brought up and if it had been a 15 year old white girl no Race issue would have been said it would be just a unruly girl that go what she deserved. And She was threating people and being very violent (They had video it wasn't just what the cops said) And she tried to get the gun away from the cop to shot him so he had to spray her. What should he have done, thought in the back of his head I have to spray her or she will shot me oh no I better not I will be called racist I should just let her get my gun and shot me. There was 3 cops trying to hold her down to keep her from getting the gin but after they realized she was going to get the gun they had to. I will admit that there are people and cops that are racist and they make an issue out of color but not every case in where a black person got injustice was it a race issue. I am not racist but am sick of people getting angry about being called the N word (which I do not say) when those same people call white people Honky, Cracker, Whitey, Albino, Racist goes both ways. Racist people are not just people that do or so bad things to blacks, I know there are people that do things against black people and it is racist like

I know there are people that do things against black people and it is racist like saying and doing mean and bad things also hurting and killing blacks because of racist beliefs but there are just as many blacks that hate white people because they are white and this thing goes both ways. I am sick of people thinking the meaning of racism is Whites hating Blacks. Racism is when anyone of any color hates or does or says hateful things against someone of a different color or race then them. There is KKK and bad cops that kills blacks and there is gangs and others that hate and kill whites. Racism is bad everywhere against different races and colors. And the people that get mad over the N word are the same ones that are proud to call white people Cracker and Honky (And Laugh about it) and the same ones that hate whites. So anyone that calls white people names for being white and expects to not be called the N word is hypocritical. If we as Americans want hate to stop we can't be against other races and call them names and then when the other race calls you names it is racist. It is a two way street and it is not just racist when against blacks , every race has felt racism. The N word ,Cracker ,Honky,Chink, Wet Back, Kike, Towel Head, Sand N (Middle East) I could go on because ALL nationalities have names that people call them in racist hatred. So let's just all respect everyone else because it is a big world and we can all share it and if anyone has a problem being called a certain name that refers to a hate name on their color or race then you quit calling others names too. If you call people (ANYONE) names because of color or where they come from you can't get on your high horse, get mad, and scream racist when someone calls you a name.

I started to write this big thing about why this story IS, among other issues, about race, then I decided, no, you people should do your own homework. But before you even think about using the word "NIGGER", tell me something, anything about the middle passage. Who became the president after Lincoln? Why is this important to American Culture today? How many days did African American (once just Africans, who were kidnapped and became Slaves, and then became American land and business owners and Public Politicians, and then became Insurgents, what is an Insurgent?)bodies hang from ropes in the center of American towns during the Post-Civil War Era? Why was this done? Why would this be relevant to race relations today? What was a "Jim Crow Law"? Who was the first person to break a "Jim Crow Law"? Why would this be relevant to race relations? Who were "The Little Rock Nine"? Why is this information relevant. I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing that if you are white, then you probably know something about the history of your ancestors. If not, I 'm sure that you can look it up. Man, I was all happy and laughing, but it's always you people who don't choose to learn, but listen and repeat the ignorance that you... Nevermind. Most of you are right, hey and thanks for voicing your ignorant opinions (not facts). Watch that first video if you can find it. Is that fat lady using disciplinary skills on that 5 YEAR OLD GIRL at all? You do know that Early Childhood Educators are trained to handle 5 YEAR OLDS throwing paper. Yes, they are! Especially Administration Level Educators. Can you believe that? That first video was made to protect the school and that fat lady because they knew that the police were on the way and they knew what the police were going to do. I don't think that they wanted either video on the internet, but someone was smart enough to post it. Think about the job that you have. Everyday you have a choice, to try your very best, or to settle for good enough.

I am so sick of people. WHY is this little girl acting out??? Something has happened to her, you can bet on that. My daughter use to act like that. A little boy pulled her chair out from under her and she scratched the hell out of him. She scratched him hard. Who do you think got in trouble - that's right - the instigator. Look, I am not saying hitting is right, but what would you do if someone pulled your chair out while you were eating at a cafe?? My point is, teachers/parents are so BUSY, they are NOT GETTING THE INSTIGATORS. You know - - the ones that whisper "YOU STUPID ASS" then run away. Then, the only child in trouble is the kid that acts out - makes me SICK!!!!! Then, the acting out kids build up all this anger, get labeled as the ADHD/CRAZY/PSYCHO kid, and start going after the teachers that didn't protect them in the first place!!! You know the instigator - their alcoholic mother is a nurse, and brings pizza for the PTA board.

I forgot to add. I am proud of my daughter. I am so happy she sticks up for herself, and doesn't let other kids push her around and walk all over her. How do we know this little girl didn't have an older sibbling, or cousin, who was an instigator? He may have hit her when she was young, and the teacher/parent, whatever the case may be, didn't stick up for her - In other words, maybe she was around an instigator at some point, and now she is acting out, and she is the one in trouble. Then, it gets out of hand, and she is labeled "a problem child" and thus, becomes one.

Arrest the parents (it take two to tango people). Sterilize the parents. That should be the punishment for people who raise bad children, neglect children, and/or abuse children. If they can't be good parents then they should never be alowed to be parents again! I think they should start with all the parents on "supernanny" and "Nanny 911"! Those people aren't bright enough to pass on their genes! Fix 'em all!

I was wondering if there was more to this story. I mean what did she do? All we saw was her sitting there. Want to see bad kids? Work in retail for a while. You'll see kids of all races who are bad. They are allowed to do as they please, say what they please and yes, whining and screaming will get you everything you want. Parents try to reason with people who cannot be reasoned with!In turn they lose the respect all children should have for thier parents and elders. Kids are cruel, violent, little cave men! Especially in such a violent world. They need to be taught what is right and wrong. Then they are nice little children. When I was in 1st grade the class bully kicked me in the stomach, often, and I got in trouble for spending too much time in the bathroom. I was busy throwing up after geting kicked. He was the rotten, spoiled kid of a rich family. There was a daughter of a doctor who would pull my hair and scratch me, dig my skin with her nails until I bled and hit me. I was the poor kid and the new kid. That made me fair game to all. Remember the movie "A Christmas Story"? Well, I was Ralphie! I girl Ralphie, but you get the picture. The teachers were no help and I told my parents. My father taught me how to fight to defened myself. So, as a little 6 year old I did just that. The next time the bully kicked me, I mopped the floor with him, gave him two black eyes and broke his nose. The next time the girl sunk her nails into my hand and yanked my hair, I floored her. My teachers knew what was happening to me but they didn't do anything. So when I defended myself, I got in trouble. The bully, was white. The doctor's daughter, was black. I am white. This was on Long Island NY in 1973. If color had anything to do with it it surely would have then. But it didn't It was money and place in the society that mattered most. And it still does. Methuselaq, you are a genius! 100% of what you said is so true. I work with children this age every day, and I have encountered a child who was this "bad". I wish we could have called the police in our time of desperation. After we exhausted all of our means of behavior modification for this particular child, he was finally expelled. Yes, he was that bad. He cursed with very explicit vocabulary to the teachers, the other children, the behavior lab modification specialists, and anyone else that pissed him off - he would hit all of us, smear his feces on the floor and the walls in the restroom, and poop in his pants. And, no, it wasn't a physical thing either. He knew when he did it and laughed about it. He would knowingly urinate in his pants and leave puddles and long pee lines on the floor. He would just laugh about it. I am well educated in the early childhood development profession, and as a EC professional in a situation such as what is portrayed on this video, the principal absolutely did the right thing. I am also a mother. If the principal at my sons school continually allowed an out of control child in my sons classroom such as this, well...let's just say - I would embarrass the school and the schoolboard.

There have to be better methods for handling out of control children, she's certainly not the first out of control child. Save the bootcamp "scare tactic" approach for after kindegarten. All respect to police, I'm sure most work very hard to protect themselves and citizens with as much integrity as possible.

We have lost control of the school system, or should I call them all state daycare. If this is what it takes, then so be it. I would say if this didn't help her out, send her to a boot camp center.
Too many excuses, not enough progress. Doesn't matter what color they are, economic level etc etc etc, the children just need to learn that they will be held accountable for there actions. This accountablity will teach them respect... after that I think "everything" will just fall into place. I guess we could just continue to teach them to jump through hoops and pass those state tests which grant school funding, if you think the system and our children/future is fine the way it is.
If we fix the youth and then contiune to concentrate our focus on them, we will all live in a better place in 2-3 generations.
