Description: The best pianist in Poland, Wladyslaw Szpilman (Adrian Brody), happens to be a Jew. When the Nazis move in and corral all Jews in the Warszaw ghetto, Szpilman escapes and hides in the rubble of the war-torn city.

He survives on a combination of help from kind souls who appreciate his talent, dumb luck and what must be the watchful intervention of a guardian angel. (less)
