Do you really need to eat mcdonalds hamburger every day to survive? I think it's quite different. Its one thing to hunt your food and kill what you need to feed you and your family, no this is the effects of gluttony.

"i know it may seem crul what they do but its brain dead the shoot a gun like thing in its head" That's not even what they're discussing here. They're talking about the cruel way many dairy and meat cows are treated while they're still alive. In my opinion, that's a more serious problem than the way the animals are actually slaughtered.

people keep argueing about this but i am a dairy farmer and what they are showing may be accurate on some of the ranches but for the most part farmers take very good care of their livestock because it is their sourse of income sick animals can't be sold injured animals sell for less and as for the hefer you see geting dragged off the truck she may just have been stubborn and though it may look cruel those animals never feel a thing and as far as the comment about finding a more humane way to do this yes we can find a more humane way but does anyone out there want to pay 20 dollars a pound for ground beef I THINK NOT

It's terrible that they treat animals this way. It's also terrible that Christians in Muslim and Asian countries are being beheaded, and that some many americans are homeless, and that the government neglected...and still don't give a crap about Katrina victims, and that are soldiers are dying for no good reason, and that our education system sucks, and that the government delays cures for diseases so that medical companies profit from threatment of the symptoms, and that so many of us live below the poverty level, and that there's genicide in Darfur.

Where is the concern and empathy for HUMANS sometimes? If it isn't furry and cute no one cares?

I worked on a farm. More than likely the cow WAS infact shot with a charge gun & you see it's reflexes here. If bleeding is not not done at that time, coaggulation spoils then meat. Also, most vet meds have anywhere from a 3-28 day hold (no treament) in order to harvest the meat. Imagine our bodies if we suffered from atrophy (no movement)Humans suffer cruelty all the time but it's funny how so many people stand up for the rights of animals over the human race.

It is what it is. It has been this way for hundreds of years. So its safe to say that pretty much everyone (including PETA members) have had a glass or two of milk. If you have issues with it I respect that I truley do, BUT IT IS YOU that has issues with it, so leave that way. This is just a small example of what is the begining of the end of our great AMERICA, everyone else NKOWING what is best for everyone else. Some food for thought those of and for PETA, WHEN YOU ARE AGED AND SUFFERING FROM OSTEOPOROSIS AND CAN'T CARRY YOUR MILK FREE GROCERIES, I HOPE THE STRAPPING YOUNG MAN THAT DRINKS THREE GLASSES OF MILK A DAY TELLS YOU TO KISS HIS ASS.

What about the cry of the carrots and bananas and the fruits and vegetables of the world aren't they living things with a life too? Tons of them are harvested and pressed every year for there juice, salads, stews they pull there roots pulled right out of the ground then cut into half screaming can no one hear them cry!? Yet no one stands up for the fruits and vegetables so we all need a plan now to stop this cruel treatment of the fruits and vegetables stop buying all juice and vegetables because they have a life force and a soul too.

Truly this is a hard thing to watch, The reason it is hard to watch is because so many people have never had to hunt for food. So many people do not have a clue what it takes to survive. The old cry for civilization to revert to nature loving hunter gathering will be ahocked when they must clean and dress their own meal. So you want to give up eating me. Please do!!! It is your choice and I applaude you for your convictions. Please just stop being so simple minded. Aminals die so that we can eat. If we all agree that in order to eat me one must kill and dress it personaly would that make you happy. I really don't think so. I truly believe that the real issue here is the need to have a discenting opinion. Many people are fashion conscious. I say that many people have become addicted to activism as a form of self worth. Without this cause you will find another and another until humans are just kept in zoos for animals to look at, or wiped out until we are no more. I suggest you read Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. Great read about some nature loving activists. Yea its fiction but you know your sick little minds have thought about hatching a plan to creat a utopian world at any cost:)

To all of the meat eaters (i.e. those that believe harming other living creatures is o.k.), Karma will find you some day and when it does may you be suffering from problems brought on by consuming the flesh of another living creature; cardiovascular disease(#1 cause of death in America), obesity, hyperlipidemia, cancer, diabetes, infectious diseases...the list goes on & on. By the way, jb41073 before you start spoutin' off, educate yourself a little. For you have it all wrong, when I am aged and look twenty years younger than I am, with flawless skin, a lean/fit body and attract glances from all directions, don't be envious as you too will be getting looks... as you sit in your roll-around scooter, looking like you should be dead and smelling that way, too overweight to carry yourself, hooked to an O2 tank, as you stuff a burger in your mouth.

Right on, got2run!! For those who think we need to eat meat and drink milk, do a little research. There are millions of healthy vegans (more healthy than meat eaters). There are many great sources of calcium besides milk. In fact milk is not as good of a source calcium as it is promoted as being due to the acidity of the protein in milk.

We do not NEED to eat animal products.

Also, some of these comments are so insensitive that I wonder if they are made by sociopaths. They are probably in favor of slavery as well as the brutalization of animals.

And for those who are worrying that animals rights activists are somehow against humans, it is possible to be both for animals rights and for human rights.

Everybody is so worked up here about what's right or wrong, but no-one is coming up with a concrete and practical solution (let us all not eat meat is NOT a solution). What about the economical consequences if you shut down an entire industry for they sake of the animals, why not shut down rubber, oil, wood, banana or diamond industry, I think the people in Africa and South-America are living in they same or worse conditions as these cows. This clip is sooo American; manipulative, playing on emotions, shocking and unresolving. It makes me sick.

Concrete solution? Change yourself and then change the world. Dumping Michaele Moore-like video (I mean scenes taken out of their context) is not a solution...but on the other hand, maybe it is for America.

I honestly have to say,if anybody took this video as 100% truth you are incredibly ignorant. if you even took half of it as truth of what really happens your are ignorant. In case you hadn't noticed this propaganda was made by PETA, showing only the very worst of the worst conditions. If you took PETA's approach to making this video and implemented into a different situation you could make anything look disgusting. I think you should get your information from an unbiased source before you start going overboard about the issue, because are you really arguing your idea's or the one indoctrinated upon you by PETA. Oh, and take a look at this link to see just how "credible" PETA really is.

for those of you that are against the killing of animals, just remember that with all the chemicales you put in your bodies, at least you will be able to see in the dark (happy glowing, You Morons) I believe in "PETA" (People Eating Tasty Animals)

I drink milk, I eat Red meat (and whitemeat Pigs, Chicken, and Fish).. I grew up happy and Healthy, I tried to eat Organic foods before , but the taste was Hiddious, and made me sick,,

I learned while cutting up cows picgs and chickens.. YOU JUST DON'T LOOK AT THEM IN THE EYES.. I hunt deer, turkey and fish, I use the meat to survive.. and to provide for my family, just as my ansestors did. THERE WAS NO PETA, NO LIBERAILS IN POLITICS< HELL THERE WAS NO POLITICS..

enjoy your leather coats, your football, your baseball, nad nice car seats (heated).. just remember, would you rather see a cow suffer from old age or eat one while your getting old

This is completely unacceptable in this day and age!!!! this is cruelty at its rawest!! no body is saying that you MUST BE a vegetarian!!! and comparing it to nature where a lion does it to a zebra is just plain ignorant! I HAVE TO THIS DAY NEVER SEEN ANY LIN OR OTHER ANIMAL FOR THAT MATTER (EXCEPT HUMANS) HOLD PRISONER MILLIONS OF COWS/SHEEP etc. AND MISTREAT THEM FOR THEIR ENTIRE LIFE!!!! I am sure that no human would like to go through what these animal go through!!! what thsi video is trying to transmit is that there are more humane ways of treating animals!!!!

and to the idiots commenting above about how they love milk and that oreos dont go with koolaid etc...well maybe if they got out more they would have heard of Soya Milk!!! 100% vegetabal and has a greater nutritional value than normal milk!!!

Malnutrition??? well have you ever considered that humans are the only mamals that drink milk after the normal gestation period? is it really necessary in our diet???? It is impossible for one person to change this world...but if we act together.....
