Perhaps a reaction to THX 1331, Bladerunner, and The Matrix, yes? The theme is a common one, but the fact that many of the elements of the film are more immediate and contemporary, as compared to the films listed above, makes this short much more interesting and refreshing. I DONT like the mans reaction after the lighter is lit, just bad timing.

I love the "Insufficient funds/ declined" message on the gun. It strikes me as the evolution of people conforming to policy (endless sets of meaningless laws to be followed precisely).
