Description: All she wanted was to make a living. Instead she made history.

North Country tells the story of Josey Aimes (Charlize Theron), a single mother with two children to support, who goes to work in the iron mines. According to the miners, women have no business driving trucks and hauling rocks and are not shy about letting her know their feelings. When Josey speaks out against the treatment she and her fellow female coworkers (Frances McDormand, Michelle Monaghan, Linda Emond, Rusty Schwimmer) face, she is asked to resign. But in the name of justice, she digs in her heels, and spearheads the nation's first-ever class action lawsuit for sexual harassment. (less)
