I am an Engineer and really enjoy MegaStructures from National Geographic. However, I am distressed that the programs stress, Harp On, Emphasize, and exaggerate every danger, possible danger, unlikely dangers and even extremely improbable dangers. And then you point out to the viewer an endless stream of "dire possibilities". Why? This is not educational. It is simply fear mongering. If children are watching, they may well decide that Engineering and manufacturing are TOO DANGEROUS as occupations to consider!

Please take a look at your scripts. Construction of a ship, plane, dam, and everything else can be very interesting and exciting WITHOUT the constant harping on "dangerous possibilities" that are EXTREMELY UNLIKELY at most! Most such are as likely as being struck by a meteor and are hardly worthy of mention!

Thanks for your consideration of this comment.

Description: Brazilian and Paraguayan workers had to divert the world's seventh largest river to build the Itaipu Dam, the largest hydroelectric power plant on Earth. And that was just the beginning. (less)
