This clip makes elephants look like monsters. The fact is, the attacks you see are from elephants held in captivity. These elephants are routinely beaten with bullhooks, bats, and electric prods. The reason Tyke killed her trainer is because she snapped. The elephants are chained and not allowed to develop their social skills with other elephants. Their health is usually neglected. Many captive elephants die of TB and are forced to work until the day they die. Do you honestly think elephants want to perform those circus tricks? I have not one ounce of sympathy for Tyke's trainer. I think he got what he deserved. Circus and zoo elephants sometimes attack their keepers out of frustration from years of neglect and abuse. Elephants should be free to live out their natural lives without confinement. Visit www.circuses.com to see what I am referring too. And as far as the guy from the pittsburg zoo, the only specialty he has is in abusing the elephants. Does he honestly think its normal to confine an animal that travels 20-30 miles a day in the wild? He knows why elephants snap, but of course as a zoo employee, why should he confess his guilt in the torture of elephants?
