I'm not much of a AC/DC fan but no it would not make any movie better. If you look at the video he made closely it has been made or edited to look good and go along with the movie but yes some movies do look and sound good with AC/DC playing but not all and on another note this movie needs to be remade I mean Steven king movies are not that good I loved them as a kid when they came on TV and not to long ago I rented a whole bunch of them at the video place and 12 out of 70 where actually good like for instance here is a list of the good ones. the shinning, the pet sematary part 2, the silver bullet, the grave yard shift, dream catcher, secret window, rose red, sleepwalkers, stand by me, The Running Man, and Christine. they where all good but some of them are corny in parts like in silver bullet when the werewolf attacks a guy that had a baseball bat and he takes if from him and all you see in the fog is this harry arm that comes up with the baseball bat I mean why would a werewolf need a baseball bat you'll have to see the movie to know what I'm talking about now I love this movie but i think they need to remake it with a good director along with the other one's now I know your thinking "but there all good classics" but wouldn't it be awesome to see a new version of maximum overdrive or the silver bullet or even the Shinning for that matter even thou nobody can recreate jacks grate deliverance in the shinning. the TV version of the Shinning and IT sucked bad.

Hey james great job with the review, as always captivating and interesting work. Your Spike Reviews are always fun and your AVGN videos are the best! Keep it up.
This message is to Jared-JVB: Do you honestly think he was serious about every movie having a AC/DC soundtrack? Can you not recognize a joke? Obviously James doesn't think Cinderella should have an AC/DC soundtrack, it's called a hyperbole buddy, but you take it so literally its embarrassing. Then you go on to tell a story that no one cares about. You wasted your time writing your comment, it is of no value.

I agree, ACDC would make movies better. And I'm not even a big fan of ACDC.

ps, the short story was pretty good as i recall, but its been easily 10 years since i read that compillation. i also thought King had directed the made for tv version of the shining, but he just wrote the screen play for the tv version.could have sworn he directed something else but james is right..

woo! AC/DC! :D
hmmm...I think I would have really liked the cinderella more with AC/DC music in it XD
...if you love it this much you must looove the TV show Supernatural. At least at one point they had AC/DC music constantly on it, or music similar to it if not ACDC itself.
Oh and I so hate those special feature thingies when there's really no special features! They just wanna trick us to believe there's something cool in the damn thing, though in fact it's just a friggin disc with balls to claim it's the reincarnation of Jesus Christ.*rolls eyes*

I remember the Truck Stop lady hysterically trying to reason with the machines. It was beyond obvious how that scene was going to end.

Hey Jared,
I thought this review was excellent, nice progressive look at the sweetest movie... and all the other steve king work and ac/dc, well, and that.. and that.. and this, that and that too,, you're paragraph is just a shit load of run-on sentences, and you get an X-, you flunk. and you spelled the cemetery wrong by two letters within the first four letters of the word. but yeah, aside from shining and stand by me, silver bullet and rose red were pretty great. if you like Max Ovr'drv, dont miss attack of the killer clowns from outer space!!!

He should have talked about how the movie made no distinction between which machines became sentient. Particularly, trucks turned bad but cars stayed the same.

"Your an asshole!" Gotta love it when the director can humble himself in a movie he wrote, stared, or directed. If I had a choice. I would like to go like the red shirt in Star Trek. Crushed under the foot of a big fucking screaming monster. Beautiful.
Oh god... AC/DC with Star Wars. I had to give a huge laugh as I am a major Star Wars fan.

My fave version of this film is the TV air on Joe Bob Briggs Monstervision. His commentary in between is hilarious. My VHS copy is nearly worn out.

"subtitles are textual versions of the dialog in films and television programs"
"closed captions typically display a transcription of the audio portion of a program as it occurs (either verbatim or in edited form), sometimes including non-speech elements"
that is a difference

The review is good, but no no movies should have AC/DC music. It's overrated mindless rock music, and no band that releases a CD exclusively at Walmart should be banned from the entire world, as that place reresents nothing but corporate greed and monopoly. The movie is great though.

I have watched the movie years ago, and I can't see any sense in it. But appreciate those explosion, though.
And the way you make Harry Potter goes along with ACDC, that's big time, man!!!

Great video. That reminds me of Highlander in how all the music was done by arena rock gods Queen. I love it when all the music comes from one rock band or rock star.
