    NO! Simply NO! This game is for pre school kids who have time to waste...I just couldn't bring myself to purchase this bore-fest of a platformer.

    Better than Farcry2.
    More surprises and fun.
    Now I found COD5 and played it because of graphics.
    My favorite games are GTA series.

    Finally something me and Scarfo can agree on, This game is clearly not supposed to be on any of these lists. Metal Gear Solid 4 should have been in this spot. No game comes close to Harry Gregson-Williams' musical masterpieces that have made the MGS series one of the greatest games today in the Cinemtic department. His music is what has made our hearts leap with fear, anger, sadness, joy, and excitement throughout this entire series. From that blast of horns when you are discovered to the fast paced cinematic symphony that plays while you fight back at the enemy and desperately search for cover, Metal Gear Solid 4 should clearly take Little Big Planet's place as a Nominee for best Soundtrack. This just goes to show that SPIKE will only put up the newest big names of gaming as nominees and that they have no clear knowledge of what the Video Game Industry is all about.

    No, your comment was put down because it was idiotic. Just because a game doesn't have blood and people killing each other, doesn't mean it's an immature, crappy kids game.

    I do agree MGS4 should win GotY and PS3 GotY, but LittleBigPlanet should definitely be a nominee.

    Who ever votes YES to this game needs to get their head examined. Its a gothic version of mario crossed with animal crossing! and is set to give little kids nightmares for life! This game is revolting! A disgrace to video games! I vote NO on this one!

    LITTLE BIG PLANET IS THE BEST GAME OF THE YEAR!!! I agree with stephen, just because there is no blood or killing doesn't mean this is a bad game. (and those of you who actually played it would know that you CAN die) And Scarfo... give me one reason this is a "pre-schoolers' game"

    and I like this game, but why did you guys put down his comment? he can voice his opinion but if you wanna say all that stuff, say it on the MGS4 page.

    you people are crazy a 3 year old game in nominee for best game of the year whats so fun about it theres no guns no killing its for 3 year olds who plays it because they dont have anything else to do #6 is wright its like mario but its a pre school version even if it won best game of the year that would be stupid like it could be better than all the other games i have a ps3 but i would never get it

    i agree LBP is a GAME OF DA YEAR material, diz game is fun and endless, i own all da super games like: GTA and Metal Gear, dey are amazin but after a certain period of time u just get tired of da same thing, talkin about LBP...now diz game is something u wud never get tired of, at first i thought it was a game for lil kidz but as soon as i got it i realized it was something addicting!!!! LBP IZ FOREVER AND IM PRETTY SURE DIZ GAME WILL BE A CLASSIC

    LBP is game of the year in my book as well! Great game for the family. LBP has a great online community and has nothing but "good time"coded directly into it. There is no end to the content and creativity that the community brings to new levels daily that users created. Mm also keeps in touch with their community like no other with their blog and mail list. Great stuff, all I want is more more more like this!

    the game has amazing soundtracks. it has an amazing nararrator, very good graphics and is very creative. this game does not have to b childish, u can create a level practically about anything u want .

    This game is amazing. This is what true development is. Innovation, fun and thinking outside the box. I hope Little Big Planet and Media molecule get some awards to show our appreciation of the Little Big Planet masterpiece.

    i have this game and love it but, it should not be nominated for this category. i actually turn the music off when i play this game, because some of the songs are so annoying.



    i do agree that it should be up for game of the year simply because of innovation and a sense of pushing games to a new level.

    but really, this game actually killed one of its songs and pulled the release date for it!

    This game deserves all the awards it's been nominated for. It's just brilliant and unique in every way. So for all of you ignorant 9 year olds who think that all good games have to have blood and guns, why don't you just give it a try cause your missing out on a lot! Always remember that a good game doesn't always need blood and guns! Just like Mario and Zelda.. although in one Zelda game there was blood..

    so yall know, you cant vote for anything. the votes were made by the VGA Advisory Council, made up of a group of the most, well-respected experts in the industry. Games released between December 2, 2007 and December 1, 2008 were eligible for nomination.

    I can't believe people say a game shouldn't win because it doesn't have violence, blood and all that...If they like all that so much, than shut the hell up and vote for Dead Space or Gears....But this game does violence(you can smack people)

    Its the liberals in America that want us to love these Gore filled games and ruin our society LOL (I'm a repub)

    Theres nothing wrong with a clean fun game like LBP...Its either MGS4 or LBP for GOTY

    Good game for kids not for pro gamers. it has a annoying repetitive gameplay and no mechanics! But very good presentation. Somewhat boring.

    Very fun game I must say. Lets you create and play anything you want. Lots of options to build anything you can imagine. 5/5 stars. I think this would be perfect for game of the year.

    I just watched the 2008 VGA and am dissapointed that they did not win game of the year. It's freaking PERFECT!!! the only reason it did not win was because it was not multi-platform, same reason Gears 2 didn't win. If all games in this category were multi-platform, it would come between those two and LPB would win.

    The point is this game is like japanese food. Didn't think i'd like the stuff at all. It's fucking delicious!!! Those of you who say the game is too kiddy for them are obviously having trouble trying some japanese so to speak. Either that or your Ritalin popping Redneck Fuck bends who would put a gun between their teeth before going 10 seconds without watching sombody's head explode (Althogh violence is great entertainment). LPB is a gaming revolution, much like rock and roll was a musical revolution. Embrace it or be stuck in the jazz era. LPB or Gears should have won, but neither did for the reason explained in the above comment

    There is a such a wonderful game, it deserves to be game of the year. I don't see why others sgould hate this game for the kiddie-looking atmosphere. LBP lets us unleash our creativity and design our own levels and lets us share it to the world. With all due respect to Metal Gear Solid and Grand Theft Auto, this is another Killer App you should add to your PS3 library.
