Description: Winner of U of M's Digital Festivus 2008, in which groups of 3 were randomly created and then given 48 hours to write a script, shoot, and edit the video to be screened at the end of the time limit. In addition, the videos had to incorporate the following: - Use of dialogue at a urinal - A character crying - Use of an inanimate object as a main character - Use of a jicama (Mexican potato) - Use of a fade-to-white - Use "it really hit the fan" at a dramatic moment - Use of embarrassing feats of strength - Use "that's ironic" to describe something that isn't - Use of a malapropism - A character wearing goggles - Someone has to give a victorious fist pump In addition, each group had to incorporate the plot, characters, and other elements of two randomly assigned movies. We were assigned "Memento" and "My Life as a Dog." (less)
