Wow...That was such a awesome everytime I see it I laugh so hard I cannot breathe. Kayne did it and he got the attention of the world because he told the truth. Look at his face and his anger it's real and for anyone to say that he was not professional when blacks were hunger and dying on the roads is unprofessional themselves....

Kanye West is a complete moron plain and simple. He needs to go back to school and learn how to publicly speak professionally. He sounds like a damn 7 year old. Mike Meyers knew what he was doing and you can see the embarrassment on his face. The hurricane was not Bush's fault. It was a mandatory evacutaion! That means get the heck out! I get so irritated when people blame Bush for every little problem in this world. Are you going to blame him for the rape and murder that went on in the dome? I can understand the taking of food and diapers but freaking televisions? You must be an idiot to take advantage of this horendous disaster and steal a television or other electronis appliances. That is theft and illegal and if it wasnt being controlled, ya, you would be shot. Plain and simple....

good way to get financial support for the poor people....go on an ill-timed racial tirade during a charity event. be nice...get the white people's money for donations....then during one of your future flip outs you can throw in about the jacked up social structure.

Hey kwisanidiot, Nobody said the hurricane was Bush's fault...not even Kanye. Maybe you should go to debate school and learn how to pick out the real issues. I agree, looting of electronic stuff was highly unecessary, but that wasn't every single person now was it? Just like in ANY pool there are bad apples. A state of panic and the need for survival causes people to show their true colors. You can't write a whole group off because because of some bad ones. Yeah, Kanye sounded like he couldn't quite pull himself together, like he couldn't speak. He couldn't...no one could. It was clear that Mike Meyers and others were reciting scripts, whether they wrote them or not. Kanye was speaking about the REACTION TO THE HURRICANE. Most of those people had no way to evacuate. And they've survived hurricanes there before, so they did not fully understand the danger. Nobody explained to any of those people about the danger bowl they were living in. Why? Because they're poor and sad to say, black. No one really cared and thats the freakin' point Kanye was trying to make. Those who understand the state of our society understood that this was a huge red flag to the way those of a lower class are disregarded. As for it being the wrong time, maybe, however, everyone is still talking aobut it aren't they? Kanye's anger may have not been presented eloquently, but it was real and it was damn sure justified. Just look at what George Bush's own mother said about the Katrina victims! Go live in la la land somewhere and let the rest of of us try and make our country a better place for all to live. That means paying attention and learning when things like this happen.

Kanye was speaking from the heart, which is something he probably has more of than GW Bush has. If Katrina had happened in Greenwich, CT, help would have been there right away. Two days after Katrina, GW was here in San Diego, raising money for the GOP. I know because I protested in front of Coronado Naval Base, where he was speaking. He had time for photo ops, birthday cake with John McCain, and playing guitar with Mark Willis, also. Time for poor black people? Not hardly. He said "Brownie" at FEMA was doing a "heck of a job". Yeah right. Here's the timeline of Katrina that proves what a pathetic response we got from the people who are sworn to protect us: http://thinkprogress.org/katrina-timeline

we all know kanye is an idiot, but my question is who is the bigger idiot that day? kanye for his stupid, pointless, and moronic remarks or the guy who should have realized that kanye wasn't reading from the telepromter and adlibbing total bullsh#t. what kind of a percentage of his income went to the relief fund instead of another fancy car or BLING-BLING?

I was just wondering, those people that support what Kanye West was saying, if you were the president of the US how would you have handled the situation. Keep in mind... when the coast guards would try to go take these people out of the area, these people would shoot at them. And what would you have done if you were a member the the USCG and being shot at while trying to help people? Everyone is so quick to ridicual but offer no reasonable way of solving any of the problems. I think the USCG and the Bush administration handle it as best as possible with the situation they were put in. So those who disagree... PLEASE, help me think another way. How could all of these problems been resolved, considering the horrible situations the people of New Orleans were putting the Police, USCG, and the Bush administration? I'm sorry but if you shoot at me and try to kill me, I am going to shoot at you and try to kill you... it's not my fault I'm a better shot.

Anyone who has paid attention to the events that have taken place (Hurricane Katrina & the War in Iraq). Should by now be convinced that the United States of America has been run for the last several years by an idiot.
And for all of the posts that ridicule Kanye for speaking the truth (regardless of his less than eloquent delivery of it). Ya'll are probably the same people who voted for the 'moron' that we have in office right now. Shit... I've seen video footage of President Bush being far less 'articulate' than the video of Kanye West. At least Kanye was sincere and telling the truth. And as for the ¿Red Cross Statistics¿ thank God that ¿We the People¿ did pull together. Quite a bit of money was also raised by entertainment industry types such as Mr. West and numerous others entertainers and movies stars (big up to the hip-hop community). But still why did the government fall down on the job. Bush & FEMA fucked up no matter how you look at it.
It is quite unfortunate that we still live in a society that can go over and bully other countries for their natural resources and put a label on it such as "The War On Terror" or for any group of people to go out and kill millions of people (most often we do it in the name of God, Allah, or whatever) and then be unable or unwilling to give the best attention available to our own at home in a time of crisis.

I think the funniest part about this whole thing is the fact that 'ol Kanye did his research on the Carlos Mencia "Mind of Mencia" show. A few days before this Mencia did a bit that used the looting blacks/looking whites line AS A PUNCHLINE.

The delivery isn't nearly as important as the result. The result of Kanye and others was the Red Cross reaching their goal: http://www.redcross.org/news/ds/hurricanes/support05/report.html
All educated AMERICANS are counting down the days till Bush is out of office and we can start rebuilding foreign relations with President Obama!!! ;) - Keith - "cracker" is uncalled for. I don't imagine that term is applicable today, I have never whipped anything besides my Apple Pie.

It ain't no new news the black person is a second class citezen, as racism in America is still a very big problem, and all the corrupt cops just make it worse. I think that's what Kanye was trying to point out, that we deserve respect, but to go out and attack the white man like that just ain't right, I don't agree with it. The only way we can deal with these problems is to stop blaming each other and ask ourselves: What could I do to make the world a better place?

Ok, so I read this entire Post about Kanye and the Katrina comments he made. Originally, i was going to chime in on the fact that Kanye spoke his mind, or on the fact that he was overtaken by the emotion he felt (cause he knows how to talk for those of you who have never seen him on anything else other than this video) and it was just hard to get the words to come together. I was gonna comment on how some ppl who are commenting need to READ BEFORE THEY TYPE!!!! And honestly, I was getting a little heated, but then i read 'justdealwithit's comment and I couldn't help but laugh (not that it was funny, but because of what he said).
I see now that some people don't give a damn really about what the point to what Kanye was saying. Some people just want to pick apart every single thing that he said for something to bitch about. HOW IN THE HELL do you make a comment, post 27, and still be talking about how he sounded when he said what he said? Obviously you were not too concerned with the validity of anything Kanye said, just how he sounded. YOU SHOULD DEFINATELY BE APPLAUDED FOR THAT STATEMENT!!!!!
P.S.
I Have to say that for a fraction of what the Bush Administration (notice how i didn't just say Bush; for all you Bush supporters) has given the military to fund the last years of this "war on terror," the Katrina situation could have been resolved. Only a fifth to be exact. AND, the USCG and the Police officers were ordered to engage only hostiles. That was in the government sanctioned orders given to the police departments and the USCG. Just some food for thought....
....Reading helps.

Man I'm going to say this and be real about it. All of you that think Kanye is ignorant and racist don't have any sense of whats going on and will never. I guess you haven't been watching the news at all or seen whats been going on down there? That has to be one of the realest things anybody has ever said, and Kanye has more heart than Bush and any one of you guys who thinks he's dumb for saying what he said. If Mike Myers was to say something like that, i bet there really wouldn't have been a problem. Maybe a little publicity, but it would have been nothing. But since Kanye said it, it's a problem. If you guys think he was truly wrong for that and Bush has REALLY done something for black people....actually anything really prosperous for anybody down there, let me know because thats ridiculous and so are all of you bashing Kanye!
