  Joe Rogan is one talentless prick. He lacks so much charisma that he was perfect to host Fear Factor, one of the worst shows in televsion history. Really, please tell me, how much talent would one need to host that tasteless piece of crap show. Now that his undeserved 15 minutes of fame are over, he'll do whatever it takes to get noticed. And hosting that piece of crap show didn't really help him for life after failure.
  
  
  
  Accusing a comic of stealing another comic's joke is a joke in itself. But it's a joke that is not really working for Joe. I'm not laughing along with a million other people. But comics do borrow from each other. When interviewed for their film "Harlem Nights", Eddie Murphy admitted to have borrowed from Richard Pryor, and Richard Pryor admitted to have borrowed from Redd Fox. There are only a handful of comics with original material and most of them are dead now, except for Dom Rickles. So every comic today is borrowing from those guys.

  Joe is really funny (and I don't watch reality shows at all) and Carlos Mencia is not. It shouldn't be okay for someone to steal your material (although I highly doubt this other guy was the first person to think of the "who's going to build the wall" joke - it seems so vague and obvious that I'm sure a lot of people thought of it "first"), and if Carlos routinely does this, he should definitely be called out for it.

  Carlos is not a comedian, in order to be a comedian you have to be:
  
  1. funny
  2. capable of thinking of a joke/understanding the meaning of "humor"
  
  Therefore he cannot be a comedian stealing other comedian's jokes, because in order to do that he would have to have come up with a "joke" at some point in his life.
  
  He is a two-bit nothing who gets off on insulting people and that earns him "respect" just like the bully at school. His closest thing to an original thought was probably, "Should I have a taco or burrito for lunch? Hey I should show up at Taco Bell that way people might actually believe I'm Mexican and give justification to the fact that 99 percent of my material is racial."

  Most of the ideas that make up popular jokes are drawn from the culture, from the public domain. Rogan is so arrogant he thinks ONLY HE could come up with certain jokes. It is possible for two or more comedians to come up with strikingly similar jokes on issues like the wall to keep Mexicans out. I have never heard of this Avi guy OR Carlos Mencia before this but had heard variations on that joke YEARS ago.
  
  It is entirely possible that Mencia and other comics DO steal jokes. But the job of comic is to PERFORM those jokes. If you are good performer you will succeed with bad jokes better than a bad performer does with good jokes.
  
  Rogan thinks you can patent, or make intellectual property out of JOKES. THAT is a JOKE. You can not. All you can do to combat the stealing of, or use of very similar material, is, if you are indeed as great a comedy writer as Rogan thinks he is, COME UP WITH MORE GOOD JOKES. A joke is disposable. We don't need and can't have an effing government bureaucracy and registry of jokes to police who tells them who wrote them etc.
  
  It certainly does suck if somebody rips of your material. Its happened to me. But there is not one thing you can do about it, nor should there be. Rogan is a threat to free speech and he does not even realize it.
  
  Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Rogan wastes time playing joke police when he ought to be coming up with new material. If you analyzed all of Rogan's stuff I am certain it would be evident he is not nearly as original as he thinks he is.

  Oh Joe, its ok to be jealous of Carlos. He has what you want. Besides comedians steal material from other comedians all the time, whats the controversy there? They all say the same damn sex joke, the same damn racial joke, the same damn racist joke, the same damn family joke, but some have creativity and present it funnier then the last comic. Where's Joe's creativity that he has to bitch and cry about something that's always been true. Boohoo, cry and bitch all you want Joe, you'll always be Mr. Fear Factor and the guy that killed the Man Show on Comedy Central. Besides, fear factor made NBC about $600 million, how much of a pay out did Joe get that forced him to be a comedian? Have some Elk Penis, a coke and a smile Rogan.

  for those of you that say Joe Rogan isn't funny you should try and separate what you see him do on Fear Factor from his comedy... His comedy is absolutely brilliant but im pretty sure he did Fear Factor for the money and was high in every single episode. He was also pretty funny on Newsradio

  it's funny how the people who support "carlos" post their replies with all capitals and make a complete ass of themselves. Ive watched Mind mencia once and i changed the channel right away, its a pile of garbage. Racial jokes after another, it gets old after 5 minutes. If your gonna focus on racial slurs atleast make it bearable like russell peters. Too bad carlos will probably steal something from him too.   First off, Joe Rogan needs to shut up unless hes gunna do more than host a stupid little show that most people have never even heard of, let alone wasted their time to watch. most of the jokes that Carlos has been accused of stealing are jokes that hold somewhat true. Which means that they are NOT the original thoughts of any one person. I dont believe he sits around watching other comics with a notepad thinking "that joke sounds great maybe ill intentionally steal it". more than one person can think similar things. *Hence the saying "great minds think alike"* Its not like people haven't thought of how athletes always makes sure to thank their mom when on tv, even if their dad was the one making them run the drills that made them an athlete *one of the jokes Joe has accused him of stealing* or so on. As long as hes not trying to copy an entire show and pull it off as his own, I think people need to settle down. And all you people that are just here to state that you hate Carlos and Joe and think they are not funny. Just don't fucking watch them. its that simple. And get a life and off a website all about them.

  I think its very childish on Joe Rogan's part to even put a video out there like this. Carlos Mencia is funny...Joe Rogan is funny and so are many other comedians. This video is nothing but a smear campaign and a vendetta against another comedian which makes Joe Rogan look like he is jealous and only seeking public approval on a personal issue he has against Carlos Mencia. My mind has not been changed about Carlos even though I watched this video and no, I didn't think this was the proper way to go about taking up a personal issue. If Joe Rogan actually believes that Carlos Mencia steals material, then why not take him to court like musicians do when they feel their material was stolen or used without consent? Take it to court and stop seeking public approval on an issue that is merely personal.

  "Stealing" is still stealing. "If a band did a cover of another band's song and was better than the original band." The band would have to pay a fee. The originator and the justice system would care and the plagiarist would have to pay. P Diddy has had to make dozens of settlements for untold millions for all the times that he has "sampled" (stolen) the melodies from past (less popular ) songs. There is something called intellectual property. Just because it is stolen all the time does not make it moral or right. Joe Rogan complains about other comics also. He has targeted Dane Cook also. If Rogan is upset about joke theft in general why not go after the comic who is cashing in on it the most. Make an example out of the most flagrant offended and send a message to the rest.

  I've been researching this issue for awhile now and I've come to the conclusion that "yes" Carlos Mencia has used the same jokes others comedians have used. And here is what I say to that....

  Think about it for a second, Mencia is a performer like all of his fellow comedians. If a band did a cover of another band's song and was better than the original band. Nobody would care!   In this age of sharing info and copying and pasting, "stealing" is no longer stealing, its spoofing and/or borrowing.
