Movies & TV - Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and inventor, is kidnapped and forced by his captors to design and build a weapon. Secretly, Stark instead creates a mechanized suit of armor and escapes. Returning to the U.S., he discovers a dangerous plot and becomes Iron Man to stop it.

The movie companies have ruined the super hero myth. Toby, now Robert. These two do not fit the profile. Toby is soft and Robert is tallow/fodder. None of the comic pics have been good.

Robert is a terrific actor. I don't really see him as Stark, but I think he'll bring him to life just fine.

Anyone that doesn't know the myth and history of Tony Stark can just stop posting now. The only thing that they have done is move the creation story to modern day. Vietnam becomes the Middle East. Communist become the Tal aban. The basic story is still there. A weapons seller gets bit by his own weapons, needs to make a metal device to protect his heart, builds an iron suit to escape, and becomes a hero.
Also, Robert is perfect for Tony. Before he became Iron Man [and some would say after even], he was a mysogistic a-hole with no morals but a ton of talent and brains. Heck he was even addicted to alcohol....even a better reason to use RD Jr.This comment has been buried by our users. Reveal Comment

iron man flying at the end of the trailer gave me a gigantic boner! then i remembered who directed this movie , jon favreau? poof ! boner gone. this is his 3rd directing gig. the first 2 , elf and zathura. so him directing a comic book movie was an unusual choice. semi-decent actor , jury still out on him directing. so he better not screw this movie up! O.K. FAT BOY!
