Paintsville High was not only the high school I graduated from but this happened my graduating year. At the time, Prestonsburg and Paintsville had a heated rivalry and this took place in the Paintsville High School gym. From what I understand, tensions were high from the very beginning of the game thanks to the Prestonsburg fans' loud heckling and throwing ice on the floor which caused a Paintsville cheerleader to slip and hit her head. However, it was a parent of a Paintsville basketball player that went over during the game and began the fight. I could be totally wrong about this but it is what I gathered from what was said the next day and the video footage. I honestly can't believe I found this on the internet. Man, that was a long time ago.

Actually being on the bench for Pburg during this. Everybody knew it was going to happen. The year before when we played Paintsville in Pburg, there was a fight on the football field. The Prestonsburg fans did not throw anything on the floor. It was going to happen that night. I loved it! Great stuff and we (Prestonsburg) ended up winning the game!!

I was in this fight, im wearing the black misfits shirt at the 1:54 area. I have to say it was a ton of fun, and we only went there to fight. the cool thing about it is noone pulled out shanks etc etc. Its all started when one of the home team parents hit one of prestonsburg students.

I would give anything for a video of the Paintsville vs. Magoffin County footbrawl from about 1993. That was probably a little worse than this one.
