You really scared me there. And yeah, I remember wondering if it was a family movie or a horror clip. The tone changes at some point.

One thing I've been wondering is this: All the Mogwais that eat after midnight and become gremlins are evil and mean,so if Gizmo ate after midnight and became a gremlin would he be a nice and friendly gremlin?

Man, if people haven't seen these flicks, they must've been born in the last 15 years.. :P
Gremlins are definitely anti-technology. I think 'gremlins' were first used around WWII to jokingly explain problems with the technology and machinery of the time.
That electric gremlin was a TOTAL BADASS! And the spider always scared me.
Nice gag at the end there. ;P

Great review, I was actually talking to someone about it just yesterday, and I realised Gremlins is the perfect Christmas movie! Think, all the trouble starts because someone didn't follow the instructions that came with one of their presents properly, the kitchen is a complete mess by the end, there's drunkeness and random breakages, someone shares the most inappropriate family anecdote, and at the end the main character's best present has to be taken back to the shop on Boxing Day. So basically it's just like your average family chirstmas!

*URK!* Gah! Damnit James, there goes another year of my life LoL! Good review dude!
Oh! Did you know that in the video release of Gremlins 2, the scene where they destroy the film is actually replaced with a completely NEW scene where they're flipping through the channels of your TV? John Wayne has to stop them to get the move started again. I never saw the Hulk Hogan thing until I rented it on DVD.

I remember thinking that the first Gremlins was a family film, until I saw it that is.
The whole idea of a sequel that makes fun of the original reminds me of the first idea for Jaws 3 (or Jaws 3: People 0).

Whenever I hear "do you see what I see" I think Gremlins. I saw this as a kid and it freaked me out. But I never saw the second one, and you've made me curious. Just like Maximum Overdrive. Great review James. Loved this one!

The comments are brilliant, can¿t get better than: "They fucking launch that bitch!". This is how a review should be like; fun and crazy but still informative and not over the top. Also enjoy watching old school effects and (foremost) puppets ¿ the mood it creates is so different from today¿s computer generated.
Gremlins is great movies, and probably the movies I¿ve recommended the most to my friends. Really fun movie, and everyone loves Gizmo. That also makes it good for dating, cause Gizmo will draw the fembots to you with the sounds of ¿awwww¿.

What's with the still pictures and the movie scenes? At first I thought the player got stuck. It's not bad, just a little confusing to have so much random pictures of moving scenes here.
Reminds me a little of Betlejuice (sp?) which was another oddly dark and yet comic 80's movie. Awesome review, thank you very much.
