Description: Clip from documentary centers on Brandon Hughey, an American who was gung-ho, enlisted in the U.S. armed forces after high school, was stationed at Ft Hood, Texas, and then discovered that he would be deployed to Iraq after the invasion ordered by George W. Bush. Mr. Hughey deserted and went to Canada because he didn't want to die for "causes that couldn't be justified."

Around the world, Canada is known for its beavers, Mounties and winter climate. But a new Canada is now emerging, famous for potent marijuana, gay marriage, pushing the limits of freedom, and as a haven for young Americans who do not want to fight in another U.S. war. (less)
