Description: The flag comes down and the longest point-to-point race in the world begins, with the bikes and the quads out front.

The filmmakers behind the gorgeous surf documentary Step into Liquid (one of whom is the son of the quintessential surf film Endless Summer) tackle the Baja 1000, an annual off-road race that attracts extreme racing enthusiasts from all over the world. Baja is the longest point-to-point race in the world, and it's been run in the desert sand since 1967. (less)
