Sometimes denial is the best defence against heartache. Perhaps he did know right along. I mean "duh" right? But maybe it hurt him too much to face the facts. He waited for that little boy long before he was born. He had 9 months to anticipate being a dad so maybe when he saw the child he denied the fact that he was a mixed race baby and accepted the baby he planned for. Maybe it hurt too much to not only face that cruel fact but that his wife of five years five years betrayed him. Anyone who cheats is ugly. Poor guy.
