It's about time they got a taste of their own medicine. I'm not an atheist, but I love watching how offended the zealots get. It would be nice if they learned something from the clip: trying to push your faith on others is just plain rude.

Unfortunately, only 40% of the population of Utah is Lds so its quite possible they weren't bugging members of the church. Also Christ did say to go out and preach the gospel so the Atheist is misquoting the bible he's never read.

Hey auteur55! Over here! you're missing the point. Nobody cares what you think Christ said or how you've chosen to interpret The Bible. They want to be left alone. If your "God" commands you to treat those of differing beliefs with brazen disrespect, don't get all indignant when you're disrespected in return. The logic is simple and solid. It shouldn't be that hard to digest.

I like this guy. The really funny thing is these people hit your door bright eyed and bushy tailed and tell you that the world is close to raptue. What a bunch of bunk and as soon as you debate them. They tell you that jesus is the only way. The funny thing is for shits & giggles I read there bible and it says that only 144,000 may only get past the pearly gates. So when ever one of them knocks on my door I point this out and they agree cause they know there bible(like good little LDS). I then advise them to jump in front of a bus to ensure there place in line then smile and close the door. I did find that last moron funny by saying "take me off your list". Someone should tell him thats only for telemarker's. What a putz.

Hey PRAETORIAN1976, that's Jehovah's Witnesses you're talking about. Mormons don't believe that bit about the 144,000 and also don't believe in the rapture.

Bpk5j when LDS do come to my door and ask me "If I think with all the problems in the middle east will that take us to the end times". Thats basicly a raptue. Yes I know the term rapute as we know it is not in the bible. It comes from 19th & 20th century bible thumpers but it's still the end of man on earth. Also I know the fools knocking on my door are in fact LDS members and not Jehovah's Witnesses because I ask them and I love to debate them. To be honest they both suck. The point is these people tell you that your lost without jesus when you haven't had your first cup of coffe yet. As for 144,000 I stand corrected. That is from the JW's but I have used that with LDS and it has worked. The whole point is that stay away from my door before noon. I dont care if someone comes to my door just let me sleep in on my day of rest.

It's nice to see someone else get the door shut in their face. Has anyone who has been bothered by LDS Missionaries bothered to tell them their not interested? They are trained to say thanks and move on politely. Seems from the film that this guy didn't do anything like that (from the clips it appears he kept bothering them after they said they weren't interested)

BEING IN SALT LAKE CITY FOR 20 YEARS (FROM LA- YES,THE CULTURE SHOCK)I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST THE MORMONS BUT I THINK THIS IS GREAT STUFF, AND TO REFUTE CYWEICH'S COMMENT THEY DO NOT TAKE A POLITE "NO" AND MOVE ALONG. INFACT THEY, RETURNED TO BULLY MY CHILDREN WHEN WE LEFT. I HAD TO ACTUALLY THREATEN THEM TO STAY AWAY FROM MY CHILDREN & PROPERTY BECAUSE AGAIN, THEY DID NOT TAKE A POLITE "NO THANK YOU." I WAS POLITE, NOW I JUST FEEL HARASSED.THAT WAS ONLY ONE INCIDENT, BUT STILL GETING THEM TO MOVE ALONG IS A CHORE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE MANNERS. SO I SAY KUDOS JOHN!!!! FOR LETTING THEM KNOW HOW WE FEEL. HAVE FAITH,IF WERE INTERESTED-WE'LL COME TO YOU, WE KNOW WHERE THE HELL THE CHURCH IS.

Well, I'm sorry that you feel the way you do. That you have gone to Salt Lake City from Australia to make this point indicates that sleeping in until noon is really important to you or that you create obsessions that you can not let go. I 've knocked on many doors as Bible saleman at 8 a.m. and as a missionary, as a Boy Scout as a neighbor though out my life frequently as shortly after 9 a.m as a missionary. Now I teach college courses at 8:30a.m. But you would not be in one of my courses and not everyone answered the door. But they do and I do still give people an opportunity to get up early and start their day learning something new and wonderful. The LDS missionaries are not trained to be "rude" as if you might think or make them to be. If they were, they would not have the success they do. The "rudeness" is our self-perception that they do not have the right to impose "their religion" on me. They are not imposing it upon you to ask if you would be interested any more than a man would be if he asked you whether you wanted a gift or million dollars. You have the opportunity to say yes or no. They are looking for those who are in need of help or want to speak about God and his dealings with men. If you do not want to hear what they have to say then, they will be happy to go on their way to find some one who does. why not put up a sign that says, "Please do not knock on my door before noon." You know It really doesn't matter that they are Mormons knocking on your door or Jehovah's Witnesses, Catholics, Lutheran's or Baptists or Optimists, Elks or any one else. Why, if it were Jesus Christ himself it would not matter to you. You 'd just come to the door and show the anger you have for anyone who dares to knock on your door. Do you really think that the whole world is going to stop and wait for you to get your beauty rest? Do you think God is going to stop his work because you don't wqn to get disturbed? It does not matter that someone has traveled nearly

Zakarious I am not sure you even know who you are talking to. I lived in Utah for years the LDS missionaries were always respectful and even helped me move a couple of times. Their two year missions are good growing experiences for them so I wouldn't knock it too much. They are just normal kids like anyone else who find themselves in a challenging situation. All I was pointing out was that these kids in the video wanted to give Mormons a taste of their own medicine but most likely were not even knocking on LDS doors. Kind of defeats the purpose don't you think?

Not really, Auteur. It is quite easy to get a ward list in any area. Sure it's agreat experience for them, but as I've said, I have had good experiences and bad, either way when I say no I mean no, not- " well what -- church do you attend?" I think I said no thanks, now I have to say " You've crossed the line- I said no- any further questions are none of your business." Why- if they are trained to be polite do I have to go that far? And they ask further still. I hear you- but I live it. Because no does not mean no (as you insist.) I now have to put up a sign. "This is not the place" to solicit. So, I get this guys drift. He makes a fabulous statement. Why can't he, make his point? Solicit his belief? I mean, since the guy whacking him with a broom behaved in such a christian manner. Thats tolerance for you. As frustrated as I get, I still to this day have not slammed a door in one missionaries face. Um, nor do I recall beating someone with a broom for a mere difference of opinion.

Rwhale, come on, you teach a college course. Rolling around the over-head projector is the most strenuous part of your job. Be careful when you mock others for needing their "beauty rest". Some folks actually work hard for a living. Some folks work 2nd and 3rd shift jobs. Enjoying a few extra hours of sleep on the weekend is hardly gluttony (if that's what you're getting at). I'm not even saying this in my own defense. I couldn't sleep past 8am if I tried. It's not about sleeping in anyway. It's about showing respect for the privacy and beliefs of others. When you push your brand of dogma on the rest of the world you're making a tacit statement, "Believe in the same thing as me or suffer the consequences." That's a far cry from asking someone if they'd like a million dollars (a silly analogy I'd say). Anyway, congrats on being the early bird. Preen with pride brother and don't break a nail on the chalkboard.

PRAETORIAN1976- you've still got the wrong religion there. Mormons don't talk about "end times"- that's an Evangelical term. Mormons don't believe in the Rapture or the seven-year Tribulation and they don't use the term "end times." I'm not sure what you mean about "lost without jesus when you haven't had your first cup of coffe yet"- do you mean kids? Because Mormons believe kids get a free pass to Heaven regardless of what kids say or do or believe.

bpk5j I know your missing the OVERALL POINT so I'm going to make it once more. I dont care who you are, If you worship Jesus, trees or your talking dog- whatever float's your boat. If you belive this or that good for you. I dont care. I work 72 and up to sometimes 90+ hours a week. So on a saturday MY day of rest, MY day to sleep in all I want is to be left alone till the afternoon. These people dont respect that. I dont care if they come in the after noon. I will sit down and talk to any one about anything. I'll even offer coffe, tea or soda to be a good host. But no they come at 8:00am. The sun is barly up in most case's. They get rude in most case's as well(they are not trained to be but people being people they do). Heres the other thing some people say put a sign up. Well here's my answer to that: why should I? Its my house I shouldn't have to have signs all over it for something that happens a few times out of the year. So to recap if you dont have enough common sense to come to my door or any one else's before 12 noon on Sat. YOU NEED TO BUGGER OFF!
