Description: You can never get enough vintage Brother Ray, as this iFilm exclusive clip from the 1960 Newport Jazz Fest shows. It's part of an awesome eight disk Rhino set that gathers all of Ray's Atlantic recordings--the creme de la creme. Here, the band stretches out here on an instrumental version of Count Basie's "Lil' Darlin'" and then moves on to a lil Duke Ellington. Sweet.

The clip, from an old TV series, Jazz USA, comes courtesy of Historic Films, which is the leading archive of music footage. From the first Mardi Gras on film to the greatest R&B, Jazz, Blues and Rock and Roll artists of the 20th century, Historic is the word. (less)
