I agree with everything, James. The one thing in this movie that always makes my improbability alarm buzz tough, is how the T 1000 ends up in the one spot in Los angeles where it is possible to destroy him. Destiny perhaps?
Oh, and i can recommend any Terminator fan to look up the "deleted scenes" of this movie because they are great.

For me seeing T2 in the cinema back then has been one of the best experiences ever at the movies. Like this review points out is has a heart combined with amazing stunts and effects. Plus the effects don't overrule everything like in most movies that are made today. All the action is very memorable too and is mostly done using real stunt people which is great. Hope Terminator Salvation will be oke i read some poor reviews about it but i'll have to check it out for myself soon.

What I think makes this movie so great is the subtle irony. The good Terminator is dressed like an outlaw biker, while the bad Terminator is dressed like a cop. Also, how the T-800's job is to protect John Connor, but Connor is the one, in a way, who kinda fathers him.
Love this movie, always will.

This movie was the best Terminator, and one of the best schwarzenegger movies. The third movie was ok, not so good as this one, and new one, I'll problably not going to see.
One more thing, once you're doing reviews of the games too, I think all of the games based on schwarzenegger suck, actually, thinking in that now, the game you've in the begining of this review, is actually better them some of the games based on schwarzenegger. I used to play that in my old Atari, good old memories too.

This movie was much more great because it had better special Effects and the action was better. It was a twist to see the Terminator (A.k.a Arnold) to be a good guy

Now I'll have to see if I prefer Arnold Shwartzi or Chris Bale. The new movie is looking good.

I couldn't agree with you more, seeing this movie for the first time is just awe inspiring and leaves you with the sense of satisfaction. The first film set the bar and the 2nd took the bar to a level that a handful of movies could ever reach. That's one of the reasons I don't like terminator 3 it lowered the bar, it's an okay movie, but what chance did it have? Did anyone expect T3 to reach the bar that T2 had set? I didn't

Excellent review however I say It is HIGHLY recommended that you watch the first movie first. Don't jump to T2 if you haven't seen the first one. You wont know why Sara conner is in a mental institution, or what the deal is with Miles Dyson getting that terminator chip and arm and other stuff.
You will have a proper and full appreciation for the storyline if you watch the movies in order. A lot of stuff will confuse you and leave you feeling lost if you don't watch the first one first. Example: back to the future 2 when Marty goes to 1955 for the 2nd time, all the stuff that happens the 2nd time in 1955 will totally leave you feeling lost if you didnt watch the first movie. Thats an extreme example but in general you shouldnt watch a sequel without watching the first one

Well, I saw T1 when I was really young and it scared the s**t out of me. I absolutely loved it and saw it many, many times, but it was years before I got to see the sequel. When I eventually did see T2, there was so much hype that I found it disappointing. The script was aimed more at kids, it wasn't that violent, it wasn't scary and Arnie was the good guy and didn't kill a single person, which is what I waiting for. When I saw it more times, I can appreciate that T1 is a horror movie and T2 is an action movie, they just both happen to be Sci Fi, but I've also seen them both in the cinema and I still get far more of a buzz from T1 because it's more atmospheric and relentless. T2 is a lot of great scenes with gaps in between; like the scene when they stop in the desert; it really takes the pace out of the film.
Since it was brought up, for me, Aliens beats T2 hands down, but all credit to James Cameron, he knows how to make a success.
