I don't know how it happened, but I first saw the BotF movies in reverse order. I saw Part III first, then saw Part II, then Part I, and so I usually had no idea what was going on. A few years ago I sat down with my brother and watched all three in one sitting. This is actually a great trilogy for that.

Actually, they did show a Two Towers trailer at the end of Fellowship of the Ring. It was attached later in its stay at the cinemas, but they did put one together and had it tacked on to the prints that were still out there. I remember my friends and I going to see it for a fourth time just because of the Two Towers trailer that was added.

Great work as always, James. We both have very similar tastes in film, so I love hearing your thoughts on movies that I love.
Speaking of that, you should do a review of the classic, Alien, or the sequel, Aliens. All those movies rock!
Keep it up, James!

2 time machines in 1955? There were at least 4 time machines in 1955 at one point.
1. The Time Machine from 1985 (BttF)
2. The Time Machine that Biff(2015) stole to give Biff(1955) the Sports Almanac. (Bttf2)
3. The Time Machine that Marty and Doc go to 1955 to stop Biff(2015) from giving Biff(1955) the almanac. (BttF2)
4. The Time Machine that Doc got sent back to 1885 in that he left in the mine. (BttF3)
I think that is all of them that were in 1955 at the same time.

If Doc just left Clara alone there would be no trouble?
He's in LOVE ya nerd! hahaha.
Anyway I also didn't like this one as a kid, but I wasn't into westerns then either. I appreciate it more now, it;s a good story. I remember they announced that they were filming both sequels back to back. If I remember right part two was a fall release, and it was in the news that it had a trailer for part three, which was out the following summer.
Anyway keep up the good work James. Great reviews as always.

I'm surprised how lowly rated this film is. I loved it including Clara. I think thhey wanted to give the characters a journey and a closure. i know the chicken thing started for Marty in the 2nd film but you could tell he had an attitude in the first film. ~refusing to back down to Biff even though him doing so is attracting his mums interest.
Unable to resist playing a rock song despite a tight schedule.
People do strange things for love, Docs always been show to be lonely Marty's his only friend, people in 1985 thought he was mad. #Then he connects with a woman, no wonder his judgement is impaired. Its also nice that doc got something good from inventing time travel after all he's been through because of it.
The repeated themes were done on purpose to highlight how history often repeats itself. But highlights two people breaking the pattern.
Docs no longer alone
Marty no longer has to prove himself to idiots.
I think part 3 is slightly better than part two. But the first film is the best.
With all the remakes there have been i wonder if anyone will dare remake this trilogy, i hope not.

The way I remember it, it's the *second* movie that people seemed to complain about most: it seems the multiple timelines thing confused people, I think it was a little more actual sci-fi than people were really expecting or prepared for in a mainstream comedy where sci-fi was supposed to be the "gimmick". The third movie people seemed to like a lot better at the time, at least among the critics & real people I remember reading & talking to. It was a much more straightforward story, and the western setting kept things fresh & gave them a whole new genre of film to play with.

Wow, thats a strange example with the Lord of the Rings movies. Because when I saw the first LOTR, they showed a trailer for The Two Towers, right after the first movie ended! Maybe it was just that way in Europe...

part III is way too under rated...It totally kept the premise of BTTF fresh and new. Plus it has some of the funniest dialogue. And Mad Dog Tannin is great!

Great Trilogy, these videos really brought back memories about watching these movies when i was younger.
Also your closing statement was very much like what John Conner said in Terminator 2.

I didn't like this sequel much until I got old enough to appreciate it. Something I always thought was kind of funny for whatever reason, was when Mad Dog gets covered in the manure, it's "A. Jones Manure". But in the 1st one, it's "D. Jones Manure". Anyway, great review of the greatest trilogy of all time James!
