I have to agree with swf721. I LOVED this commercial when it first aired. It took me 6 months to lock it into my brain that it was for information technology. I tell people about the commercial but I STILL keep forgetting the company's name.
Entertaining, but, a lousy return on the advertising dollar!

This is, IMHO, the ABSOLUTE BEST Super Bowl commercial EVER!! My friend Shirley and I were watching the Super Bowl when it came on. Both she and I are IT professionals and we were in on the joke. The premise of the advertisement comes from the saying, "managing programmers is like herding cats." After watching this commercial, we were both rolling on the floor in laughter, or in netspeak, we were both roflmao!!!

This commercial isn't aimed at the consumer. You and I would never buy this. The people targetted, decision-makers who buy corporate technology, are familiar with the expression "herding cats", which means getting an overly-independent (supposedly because they're brilliant) group of technical employees to work together. If you've ever worked in tech, this commercial is the funniest thing in the world. You look for the name because they sound so hip. Then you realize it's only EDS. Hip advertising company, though.
