Description: On December 2, 1984, Union Carbide's negligence caused the overnight deaths of approximately 8,000 people in Bhopal, India, the eventual deaths of 20,000, and the untold misery of hundreds of thousands more. People still die every month from exposure to the gas... which has not been cleaned up. The filmmakers look into how then-CEO Warren Anderson and Dow (which acquired Union Carbide in the '90s) have evaded the justice India has demanded. Visit www.bhopal.net for more information.

NEWSFLASH: On December 3, 2004, a hoax was perpetrated on the public by The Yes Men. Posing as a Dow spokesman, Yes Man "Jude Finisterra" claimed that Dow was taking responsibility for the disaster and had begun a $12 billion rehabilitation effort. The BBC interview was shown on TV twice before Finisterra was discovered to be a fraud and the BBC issued a retraction. Dow has yet to take responsibility for the disaster.

Email Dow here to let them know what you think. (less)
