    No match on this one Beyonce..Jennifer's voice is more suited for this type of song. Beyonce is struggling on this one..while Jennifer sings with ease and emotion...not forced.

    Jennifer is no match for Beyonce. Her voice is hollow and off-key in comparison to the melodic voice of Beyonce.

    Jennifer's voice is very powerful. She was more convincing as the character "Effie White." Beyonce's performance in the movie sounded like Beyonce, not convincing at all... her character is based on Diana Ross, she should atleast try and be true to the character she was playing, maybe she would have gotten better reviews on her performance--singing and acting. But overall it was a good movie and congrats to Jennifer for her first movie Oscar, she's a really good actress.

    I disagree with you, will2loveu. Beyonce has a very powerful voice as well, but her character had to played as it was, subtle. Only in the end of the film does she find her voice, and that is interpreted by the way she sangs Listen at the end of the film. This was intentional, as showing she found power in leaving someone that controlled her life.



    If you haven't noticed, Diana Ross is NOT a powerhouse singer, but that doesn't mean she can't sing.



    I think there should have been a third choice of even matched, which is what I would have chosen. Based on the choices at hand, I would chose Beyonce. Just because singer has a powerful voice, doesn't neccessarily make them a better singer. What makes a great singer, IMO, is having control over your voice. Jennifer oversang some parts.

    I BELIEVE THAT BEYONCE DID AN EXCEPTIONAL JOB ON THIS SONG SHE IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL SINGER AS SUCH JENNIFER HUDSON. BUT I THINK BOTH SINGERS ARE WONDERFUL BUT BEYONCE KNOWS HOW TO APPLY HER VOICE TO A SONG AND MAKE IT HERS!

    Well in my honest opinion Beyonce cant hold a candle to Jennifer Hudson. You see they both have totally different styles of singing. Dont get me wrong Ms. B can sing but this is not her type of style compared to Jennifer Hudson voice. Jennifer has that Mahailya Jackson soulful gospel sound.

    As much as I love both Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson, I feel really upset that this clip didn't include the third oscar performance by Anika Noni Rose and Keith Robinson. In my opinion, Anika Noni Rose is an amazing talent and while I think Jennifer did a great job, I feel Anika stole the scenes she was in for her expert comic tiing. I am truly upset that she doesn't have more noteriety from all of this.

    Jennifer Hudson is a hundred million times better Beyonce her voice her looks her acting just everything. Also to add to what Mike1028 was they do discover more attention because all did a great job it was a great movie

    Its funny when Beyonce says, "I know Your The Best...", it looks like she's struggling to smile after that, haha. Both JHud and Bey did great though.

    beyonce cannot act she acted like herself in the movie she wasnt trying to be diana ross and jennifer has a stronger voice beyonce says sing it girl she knows jennifer is the best she passed every test and she cant believe that its true that jennifer is better than her beyonce trys to over sing cause she knows whats up this time its not a movie anymore

    Let me just say, Jennifer won the oscar and not Beyonce. Not denying the fact that she can't sing or act, Jen just had the better role to fill. And with that attitude she won.

    Not hating on Beyonce.
    I think she is very talented and really pretty.
    But just think she (Beyonce) is OVERATED IN EVERYWAY LOOKS INCLUDED. Don't let Beyonce's looks cloud your judgement. It is clear that she was the breakaway star and stole the show from Beyonce. I wonder if she is used to sharing the spotlight or even being an after thought because J. Hud clearly stole the show (both at the Oscars and in the movie). This is evident in J. Hud's nod and subsequent win and B's nod but for the song but no win. J-Hud sang "One Night Only" better than Beyonce I don't even want to hear Beyonce's version anymore. Sorry B.

    J-Hud's voice makes Beyonce's sound flat. You see she (Beyonce) had to TRY to come back strong each time after J-Hud's verses in this clip. Good looks don't make a true singer.

    BEYONCE WAS GOOD BUT NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Apparently the Academy felt the same thing or else Beyonce would've have won. She was nominated for "Listen" but didn't win. Beyonce's looks almost helped her win. But almost doesn't cut it. Beyonce's looks may make her a good all around performer but it doesn't make her a better singer. IN AN INDUSTRY THAT IS SO SHALLOW, IT IS NICE TO SEE THAT A PERSON (J-HUD) WITH REAL VOCAL PROWESS CAN STILL BE APPRECIATED.

    i know that beyonce and jennifer hudson are great singers. they both did well on their oscar performance, and no one should have anything negative to say because they both put it down on the stage. in my opinion, jennifer hudson has a strong vibrato but she can transform. beyonce is a pop singer, and she has a greater range, its just that she goes to the range of and tenor to be heard in her emotions. jennifer hudson is a gospel singer, and beyonce is more pop, and they both can't help the fact that when they do a song whether alone or together, they have to make it their own and be the center of attention. it's not arrogance, its just who they are, they love to perform and they love the moment of a dream come true. i'm a fan of both, but beyonce is my top pick because of her talent, beauty, artistry, and her spirit.

    Ha ha..I'm glad Beyonce didn't win. She over sings, wears wigs textured for White women, and isn't very bright. Jennifer, on the other hand, is beautiful naturally, doesn't promote the "light is right" stereotype Black women have to fight against (i.e. the Halle Berry's of the industry), and is humble as well as insightful. She truly is inspiring and worthy of the award. I'm so happy the world recognizes it too.
