These men are no better than cavemen, how barbaric and evil. Islam is stuck in the dark-ages.

The behavior of this man has very little to do with Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (s) said that "The best among you are the best to their wives." Mr. Al-Baz should be jailed for a very, very long time for what he did.

sending again and again this comment regarding the dirty work of this MEMRI TV junk thing.

Funny how some people can try to abuse others by showing them SYSTEMATICALLY some idiots talking about some so called islamic issue.
the Memri junk(The Middle East Media Research Institute) who not only translated this video are known to be very good at CHOOSING the BEST parts of similar discourses, making good montages of them in order to show to the world what they want you to believe to be the 'real Islam'.
just search the videos made by this HONORABLE institution, and you will see by your self that it is far from a Research job.
anyway, i beleive that we've got a bunch of problems to solve, including terrorism, but principally we gotta fight illeteracy, poverty, ignorance, dictatorship and the mummies like the tv program guys.
it would help if people stop to lie and present to audience such a tricky "Analysis" with titles like Allah says, mohammed did...

Being an Arab and a former Muslim I find the comments to defend Islam and Muslim behavior in society to be naive, absurd, and idiotic in many ways. If you believe that the MEMRI had to work hard at editing the comments to justify the premise of the story, you must be out of your mind. The nature of Islam and its doctrine is violant and abusive. People's natural God given freedoms are taken away. The freedom to make ones own choices is restricted by either Islam or the society that claims Islam as its religion.

I grew up in a muslim home that saw this type of inhuman behavior take place. It was justified under religious or societal norms to force children and women to obey fathers. They gave undue respect to men because of their gender. What a screwed up system of thought and belief. Please justify a child being beaten almost to death for not responding quick enough to a question their father asked. Yet, that same father is rewarded for being a good disciplinarian.

Please step up to a leadership role and begin to make change in a society and a religion that so desparately needs it. If you want to respond to this interview be real.

Description: Last year, Ranya Al-Baz, a popular Saudi TV host was severely beaten --- nearly to death --- by her husband, Muhammad Bakr Yunis. Mr. Bakr thought he had killed her and was on his way to bury her, when she moved and he instead took her to a hospital. On April 29, 2004, Ranya Al-Baz was interviewed by Saudi MBC's Mahmoud Sa'd. Then, on August 1, 2004, Sa'd interviewed the abusive husband and re-aired excerpts from Al-Baz's April interview alongside. While some Saudis appreciated her stepping forward with her story, others criticize her actions for harming Saudis' image abroad.
