paddy boy. How appropriate, what are you 12 years old? I guess big money is okay as long as you and the libs have it. Then you want everyone else to give the money they earn to those that don't. How about if I earn the money I get to keep it? Grow up.

Hey realist2: You're a little confused. Canada sent not a single person to Vietnam. But it's estimated that around 3,000 to 10,000 canadians went to the U.S. and enlisted in the U.S. army, for personal reasons. Before you go and blubber and insult people, actually read the information, don't just glance at a page and see a number and conclude that you are correct. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_and_the_Vietnam_War is a good spot, which cites several references and source material.

Just because some Canadians joined the U.S. military, it doesnt change the fact that the government of Canada did not officially send troops to Vietnam.

Canada did sell munitions and chemicals to the U.S. during the Viet Nam war. There's never been a shortage of greedy business people in this country. This does not alter the fact that NO Canadian troops were sent there. The fact that a few thousand Canadians went south to join up only proves that we have are share of lemmings in this country.

Think what you will about Ann Coulter, but do NOT deny credit to the Canadians who served in Vietnam¿both as Canadians and as (U.S.) Americans! Note that some Canadians were drafted (see below) and some were volunteers.
Go to Google and search on ¿Canadians in Vietnam¿ (without the quotes) and you will get ¿¿ about 1,090,000 for Canadians in Vietnam¿.
Try this one by Richard Shand, June 1996. ¿I had the somewhat unique experience of being a Canadian in Vietnam.
(snip)
¿When I was in Vietnam I was told that there were only 100 other Canadians in-country at the time (including my brother who served up north as a tech inspector for the choppers of the 2nd Signal Brigade at Phu Bai.) I had been drafted but almost all Canadian Vietnam veterans I have met were volunteers who crossed the border to enlist.
(snip)
¿If we add together our estimates of the number of Canadian Vietnam Veterans with and without US citizenship, the total number of Canadians who served in Vietnam is 3,500. The sample of Canadian Vietnam veterans used as the basis for these calculations amount to only 2% of this total, however.¿
http://www.mystae.com/reflections/vietnam/canada.html
Or go to this website http://www.canadiansinvietnam.ca and tell them no Canadians served in Vietnam ¿ I DARE you!

Canada did not fight in the Vietnam War, and diplomatically it was officially "non-belligerent". Nevertheless, the war had considerable effects on Canada, while Canada and Canadians affected the war, in return.

Not only did the Canadian government pass on Vietnam, it also provided a haven for american war resistors (draft dodgers and deserters) by refusing to return them to the US goverment.

Actually it was Bob McKeown and the CBC who had the chutzpah to lie to their Canadian audience. The fact is that the Canadian govt. DID order and send troops to Vietnam. Coulter was right on the money. McKeown was not and should apologize for being so sure of himself and his flat-ass wrong information (and for CBC's snooty little tag line following the exchange with Coulter). Don't take my word for it, Canadians. Take less than a minute's time to check this out for yourself. Go to Google-dot-com and put all the following key words into your Google search window: "wikipedia Lou Sander Canadian Troops Vietnam" which will lead you to the real facts. It will take less than a precious minute. Then, if you have the desire to do so, write to Bob McKeown and the CBC and educate those clowns.

Okay, first off Ann Coulter is a B*tch. For someone to fight against abortion, yet say she would rather have terrorist attack the New York Times or assassinate John Edwards confuses the hell out of me. She says she is Pro-Life, yet she would rather see those people killed.
Okay to the whole Canada Vietnam thing. Yes there were Canadians in Vietnam, NO!!!!! there were not sent by their country, they were either drafted by the U.S. or they Volunteered. Just because you have a Canadian serving to fight doesn't mean that their country sent them there. So there you have it, ANN was wrong, maybe she should stop reading articles from Wikipedia and actually do some research.

Ann Coulter is correct, the interviewer is wrong. Canada DID send a few hundred troops to Vietnam in the early months of 1973, under "Operation Gallant". The voiceover at the end of the segment is also wrong. Sadly for you left-wingers, once again Ann is right.
