I knew the Minks were going to Win. I was worried when the Maori had 3 out of 4 advantages. but after the fight I was so happy and saw how good the twin hooks were. Never underestimate someone who is peaceful and smaller than you I say

I wonder how a war between raiding Maori and defensive monks would fair. The Maori would adapt weaponry and even use the monk weapons. It would be a case of Unstoppable Force (Maori) meets Unmovable Object (Monks). I'm looking forward to next week, should be interesting.

I hate when people emphasize the ability of weapons...and not even the warriors themselves....monks martial arts overrated? see a monk who's years of concentration allowed the ability to throw a needle into glass..shattering a small hole in it--> YouTube and Ripley's Believe it or Not.
A monk could take on most warriors unarmed lol.

I know that it might be asking a bit much,, but i would like to see some aftermath episodes of the 2 or 3 fights that were not covered yet: such as the samurai vs viking. What do you say?
3 replies Reply Flag comment as inappropriate
This comment has been buried by our users. Reveal Comment
This is BS, they do an aftermath out of this one, the most obvious match yet, but they don't have one on the viking vs samurai one, the one with the most flawed testing yet? I sense this is deliberate. They know they screwed up.

I like how Max basically admitted that the computer does not really take into account how the weapons are really used. Shoalin should have got the win regardless

Wow, I was excited when my comment was chosen for the last aftermath, but I never thought I would get that lucky again. Shweet! After hearing the actual killing ability of the chain whip, I think I can understand why the shark tooth club won. However, I still think the chain whip makes a more effective weapon. It's essentially a sheild.
Next week's William Wallace vs Shaka Zulu and I'm behind Wallace all the way!!!

Great aftermath as usual; although Max's suggestion of adding personality into the mix next week leaves me concerned. Naturally I'll wait to see how it gets added but my concern is how do you quantify such things and does that mean personality wasn't a factor in earlier episodes? I'm sure it doesn't make a huge difference when fighting anyways if you assume you're taking the top combatants from each warrior group...

Tamashii7 keep swallowing the Blue Pill and you'll always get your questions answered on the show.
REAL controversial issues that are actively being avoided, such as using an inauthentic Hawaiin sharktooth club in place of a maori weapon.
And about the Shaolin, is as what Aznfatez wrote earlier:
Unfortunately they invited all wu shu people to demostrate the weapons of the monks. Most of the art perfected by them are for show. A classic example was the technique with the wax wood staff, no where did he brace the staff against his body or thigh. The real power of the staff comes from getting a 3rd lever point agianst the body or thigh using both hands as with all long pole weapons in chinese martial arts, otherwise there is not enough stablization on impact. Other than that it was funny to see in the demos the monks doing tai chi, which depending on the period was not practiced there and was developed outside the temple.

Just because he was moving slow doen't make it tai chi. In kung-fu many forms are practiced slow to get the subtlies down.

I have a question.
Seeing as how the Maori practiced cannibalism,
had the Maori warrior defeated the Shaolin Monk,
an hour later would he have wanted to eat another one?

I have another question, how come sometimes you don't show the battle where the deadliest weapon kills what i'm saying is in Shaolin vs maori you showed the shaolin killing the maori with the emei daggers when the twin hooks were his deadliest weapon. What's up with that.

I wish you guys would stop avoiding the biggest question in EVERY Aftermath:
Why wasn't the (insert weapons here) used be the (insert warrior here).
Seriously, I have a suggestion to replace ever weapon the Shoalins had, except the twin hooks

Really sorry that you all feel that the Gladiators should had won. To the guy who thinks that the spot where the fight had taken place was unfair.....Think for a second....If not in the countryside...then where? You think the arena would be fair?? The Apache lived off the land! Yes there was an advantage for the Americans on their turf but is it fair to wear amour? I'd say that the playing field was level due to that! This was a hypothetical fight....get over it! Go William!

I agree with mjs34, id like to see a Viking vs a Spartan. I'd also like to see some kind of Arabian warrior, like a Bedouin or Persian (the Spartans did famously fight the Persians after all)

ok i didn't like the group fighting but it is understandable i do like the "legend" fight that is coming up and would like to see more i think that exploring the vast world for its all time warlords is a good idea, there will always be contrversy due to our points of intrest. myself would like to see a match with either Attila the Hun or at least the Hunic Tarkin.

To Potrice1337... I disagree. Godzilla vs. Smog (yes a Lord of the Rings reference LOL) Would be a great fight.
As for matchups we haven't seen yet, how about a Roman warrior vs. anyone??? Also, we haven't gone into civil war style weapons or wild wild west weapons yet either. So, a cowboy vs. a revolutionary war infaltry man for instance.
Plus i'm partial for the samurai going against the knight. Mostly because they are extremely similar and i think it would be a great fight.

To me the best part of the shoe is the experts.
The enthusiasm and pride they take in their particular warrior is awesome...if a little scarey.
While I may not always agree with the results I am still sur of a hour of very entertaining TV.
This may be a little off the wall but I kinda wish they would do fantasy characters....Spider-Man v Darth Vader anyone?.......{ok..I'm a nerd..I admit it}
