John Huston, Humphrey Bogart and cast followed "The Maltese Falcon" (1941) with "Across the Pacific" (1942). The film capitalizes on the success of the first film and anti-Japanese sentiment. Bogart's disgraced soldier embarks on a Japanese ship sown with intrigue in this "tale...of evil little men of Japan" set in the month before Pearl Harbor.
