Betrayal, denial, murder and revenge... it seemed like just another Tuesday for Private Detective Jack Carter. But somewhere between the end of one case and the beginning of another, Carter's past catches up to him. Now, lying on the asphalt breathing his last, Carter investigates his past to find out why things have turned out so terribly wrong. Somewhere between memories of a life haunted by vicious women and littered with gritty cases, Carter finds the reason he is on a one way train out of this city of shadows forever.
