Typical American teen Mia Thermopolis hits the road for a summer in Europe before taking up her duties as princess of the tiny country of Genovia. She continues her royalty lessons (how to ride a horse side-saddle, etc.) and discovers there's one duty she hadn't considered as part of the equation: an arranged marriage for the stability of the crown.
