A press conference with biographer J.H. Hatfield following the rerelease of his controversial book on George W. Bush.

When Texas Governor George W. Bush decided to run for President of the United States, celebrity biographer J.H. Hatfield thought it would be a good idea to do a book about the rising political superstar.

Hatfield originally wrote a fairly innocuous look at the statesman's life, but at the last minute agreed to include a controversial anecdote accusing Bush of having used cocaine in his wild youth. The book's initial publication created a media whirlwind that swept up a diverse array of quirky characters.

The biography, Fortunate Son, was eventually pulled by its mainstream publisher, St. Martin's Press. Enter Sander Hicks, the punk rock publisher of Soft Skull Press who rereleased the book to much ensuing controversy, including the surprising revelation behind the source of the cocaine story.
