About the controversial French lawyer: Jacques Verges. He began his career with the Algerian War for Independence and the defense of Djamila Bouhired, an activist who embodied the people's determination to gain freedom. Verges ends up adopting the anticolonialist cause and then disappears for eight years. When he returns, Verges defends unpopular figures from all political fronts and monsters like Nazi criminal Klaus Barbie and Holocaust denier Roger Garaudy.
