Back in November, 2005 when Jordan was reeling from Al-Qaeda suicide attacks on its hotels in Amman, voices in the Arab world criticized the murder of innocents in the name of Islam. Is this evidence of a growing introspection and reform, or merely the actions of state-financed clergy protecting the rule of their autocratic governments?
