The Global Defense Initiative is a secret organization tasked with keeping the threat of the alien substance, Tiberium, a secret from the human race. But opposition, in the form of the Brotherhood of Nod, discovered Tiberium's potential as a powerful energy alternative. Nod's reveal led to a major rift in Earth's inhabitants who aligned themselves with either GDI or Nod. You play a covert operative working for the GDI who must stop Nod and discover the true nature of Tiberium before it wipes out the Earth.
