Independent media group www.submediatv.com has completed a short film inspired by CrimethInc.'s book Days of War, Nights of Love. The short is entitled Why I Love Shoplifting from Big Corporations. It is a short story of a young American striving to survive in a corporate dominated world. The film 'steals' portions of a chapter of the CrimethInc. tome and uses punk rock by Atlanta's Black Mona Lisa as a soundtrack.
The short has been touring the US part of the Lost Film Fest and has been screened in far away places such as the counter G8 summit in Scotland, Hollywood and Sydney.
This is subMedia's second attempt at adapting a portion of CrimethInc.'s masterpiece. The first one was ''Join the Resistance: Fall in Love'' which has been screened worldwide from Manila to Berlin.
Shoplifting is part of a new DVZ (DVD/Zine) entitled Molotov put out by subMedia.
Written, Produced, Shot, Edited and Directed by Franklin Lopez.
