Draw the Pirate

Draw the Pirate is a short, comedic film written and directed by Jeff Hopkins. It stars David Snell, a series regular on the Emmy-award winning crime-drama The Shield, and tells the story of a working stiff who attempts to gain acceptance into an art school advertised on a matchbook cover. After multiple rejections, the protagonist begins to wonder of his critics--who they are to judge? He heads to the art school, planning extreme measures to find the answer.

Completed in August of 2003 and coming in at a little over six minutes, Draw the Pirate details one man's decent into madness in a very human...and hilarious way.
