Drew Baylor is fired causing the shoe company he works for to lose millions of dollars, and to add insult to injury his is also dumped by his girlfriend, Ellen. Drew's father dies, and he has to go home to his Kentucky birthplace, Elizabethtown, to make sure that his father's dying wishes are fulfilled. On the way home, Drew meets a flight attendant, Claire Colburn, and he falls in love. It is just the thing to get his life back on track.
