The Violets Foreo

Dressed like Warhol's Factory associates making a cameo in 'Das Cabinet Des Dr. Caligari', The Violets have created a seamless and seductive image for themselves. There is a spiky borderline between their monochrome, starkly lit world and the fuzzy-edged sepia tones in which many bands are all too content to portray themselves. Towering blonde siren Alexis spits out songs over a twisted melee of frenzied guitar, melodic bass, and "what sounds like six drummers" (NME). The result is both exciting and otherworldly.
Releasing their music independently through the modern equivalent of Wilson's Factory, Angular Recording Corporation, the band are about to record their debut album and will release the single âForeoâ in February 2007. Inspired by the Hitchcock film âMarnieâ, Foreo is suffused with a similar sense of thrilling discomfort. With ominously driven verses and triumphant choruses, this song rises and rises with an ever quickening heartbeat.
