In this clip from a 1977 short film director Anatoly Petrov parodied an American-style action adventure movie, complete with international film stars (look for animated versions of Yul Brynner, Mel Ferrer and Jean Gabin) in order to freely examine the subservient treatment of ordinary soviet soldiers by their officers.

This film is 10 min. long and can be watched in its entirety on the Masters Of Russian Animation DVD set - an extraordinary collection of Russia's most important animated short films by Russia's world renowned directors.
